Great great great!
Such a good read
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
It kind of has an Agatha Christie feel to it. And not just because at least one of the characters will annoy you. I'm sorry; but these kids have a giant target painted on them and they're so nonchalant about it. But besides that it is a very "Christie" mystery. Very And Then There Were None. Who's next? Who's doing it? And why?! It makes it obvious who the killer isn't, so you'll definitely be making a long list of suspects. And then, like with any great mystery, be completely surprised by the final outcome. It's really great; not only will it keep you guessing but it'll leave you in suspense. Mysteries fans will absolutely enjoy it.
Wow. You Will Be Mine by Natasha Preston was great. Natasha Preston started out her writing career on an app called Wattpad. This app lets you write storys, and publishers could find an interest in that book and pursue it. This book was published February 6, 2018. It tells the story of a university student, named Lylah and a group of her friends (Chace, Sonny, Isaac, Sienna, and Charlotte). They are being terrorized by an anonymous source, leading up to Valentine's day. Personally Lylah has never liked Valentines day, due to her parents passing away two days before. She never really understood the meaning of it, or maybe she never had a good experience with the holiday. The only person Lylah can count on is her brother Ryan… and of course her crush since forever Chace. The only thing she ever wanted was Chace to like her back. When the terrorizing begins, they only think of it as a joke, since it was just a note that appeared on the doorstep, but that is until one of their friends end up dead. So this group of friends, is trying everything they can to try and stop this killer, before it strikes again. This book is very enjoyable for teens preferable 14 and up. Since this book is a thriller, I was always on the edge of my seat, wondering what was to happen next. The author does a great job of keeping the killer a secret, which only makes the book more suspenseful. I would not say this is the best book I have ever read, due to the fact, that the characters are not portrayed well. I felt as if the author did not give the readers enough action. I mean yes, there was action but a good part of the chapters was written, through what Lylah was feeling.I sort of wanted to know how she and her friends were feeling, through their actions, not just opinions. You Will Be Mine is the book that you do not want to put down. The dialogue could use a bit of work, but it did not really bother me that much. Even though I was not madly in love with this book, it still had me wanting to read the next chapter. I do give the author a ton of props for keeping the killer a secret until the end, I mean wow, I do not think anybody saw that coming. So I would say You Will Be Mine is a decent Thriller with an amazing plot twist.
YOU WILL BE MINE is a new adult psychological thriller that challenges everything the characters thought they knew. College sophomore, Lylah, shares an off-campus home with five other students. After the sudden, unexpected death of her parents on Valentine’s Day two years earlier, they’re as close to family as she has, with the exception of her brother, Riley. So when Lylah and her housemates are targeted one-by-one by a serial killer, who may or may not have a history with each of them, life becomes a terror-fueled nightmare to catch the killer before he strikes again. Plot The plotting is magnificent. The story unfolds with one terrifying note from the killer after another. Unexpected twists and turns keep the story moving forward, although not at a breakneck pace. Pacing is one of my two complaints with this book. Lylah spends a lot of time inside her head thinking about the same things over and over again, which drags the pace down. And we’re constantly told what she’s feeling instead of allowing us to feel it through her actions. The ending is pulse-pounding, though, and I never saw it coming. The Characters This is my second complaint with the story. I couldn’t stand Lylah. She was often reckless and almost always annoying. However, I loved the rest of the characters and that was enough to keep me turning the pages to find out what happened to them. Chace, the love interest, came across as too good to be true at points, but a typical college guy at others, making him a bit of an enigma throughout, which I enjoyed. Isaac, Charlotte, and Sienna were equally intriguing characters and I was rooting for this gang from the opening pages. Top Five Things I Enjoyed About YOU WILL BE MINE 1. The thriller aspects. Nathasha Preston keeps the reader guessing, terrifying us, and ending chapters on a phrase that only makes you want to keep reading. 2. The ending. The author does a masterful job of keeping the truth hidden from the reader, just sprinkling in enough breadcrumbs to never make it feel contrived. I adore a good surprise. 3. Terror. The killings are suitably gruesome to provide shock and horror, without being over the top. 4. Sienna. She was easily my favorite character. Her spunkiness and quiet confidence made her a great foil to Lylah’s dark insecurity. 5. Campus life. I feel as if the author captured college life fairly accurately, contributing to the atmosphere of the story. Bottom Line A decent thriller with a surprise twist. Love her books but this wasn't her best for me.
Lylah and her roommates are headed out to celebrate Valentine's day after a stressful week of exams and classes; their hoping some drinking and dancing will be the release that they all need. Lylah especially, since this very holiday is a reminder of the day she lost her parents, and it doesn't help that her brother has been pestering her all week to return home for the anniversary. But just as they are ready to leave they find a cryptic note on their front steps, and immediately Sonny chalks it up to a former scorned lover... but when he doesn't return home the next day they realize he had it all wrong. Someone is out to get them and they will stop at nothing to get their revenge... one by one they start to disappear, and Lylah begins to wonder if the police will catch the killer, or if her time is up too! You Will Be Mine is a thrilling, fast paced, suspense novel that is sure to keep you guessing until the very end! This was my first title from this author, so I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but with each page I turned the more addicted I became, and the harder it was for me to put my tablet down! The story centers around a group of college age friends who have managed to wrong someone, and that someone is killing them off one by one to exact their revenge. From the moment the killing starts, so does the guessing game of who the killer is, and just when you think you have it figured out the story takes a different turn... it was a great game of cat and mouse! If you enjoy young adults suspense novels, I highly recommend you get your hands on this one, it's sure to have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish!!
