Fools Gold Bachelors Find Their Way to Happily, Inc You Say It First introduces Susan Mallery's new series set in the charming town of Happily, Inc, California. Happily, Inc is a wedding destination town founded on a fairytale about mail-order brides finding true love. Dreams come true for couples married in Happily, Inc and they live happily ever after. Nick Mitchell is a world fameous sculpter waiting for a commission in Dubai. Nick and two of his brothers (also artists) originally lived in Fools Gold. After a family secret reveal cataclysmicly changes the Mitchell twins reality, they packed up, left Fools Gold, and relocated to Happily, Inc. Unlike the very successful Mitchell brothers, Pallas is a struggling wedding planner trying to keep her recently inherited wedding business afloat. You Say It First begins when Nick arrives at Weddings In A Box for an interview with Pallas. The first thing Pallas says to Nick is, "...I really need you to take off your shirt". Quirky from the first line, this book grabbed my attention and I couldn't put it down. Susan Mallery has an amazing talent to build upon extended storylines with recurring characters living in places we love to dream about. Nick and his brothers provided continuity of the Fools Gold storyline as well as the link between Fools Gold and Happily, Inc. Nick and Pallas' story was a perfect introduction to Happily, Inc; a new cast of characters, and a desert town where brides and grooms experience the wedding of their dreams and live happily ever after. Although she often reintroduces characters from previous stories, You Say It First includes a couple of surprises for Susan Mallery fans. I loved this book and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys fun, quirky stories.

You Say It First is the first in a new spinoff series. For readers who met the Mitchell brothers in the Fool's Gold series, you'll love getting to know them in these books! Pallas Saunders is the new owner of a wedding planning business called Wedding in a Box, but the more she works with Nick Mitchell and his out of the box, creative ideas - the more she realizes how much she enjoys being challenged with new themes. The secondary characters in this story will keep you laughing, and a few will tug at your heartstrings. I loved the concept of this series, and can't wait to dive into more! Susan Mallery has outdone herself once again!

This book is about Nick Mitchell (Fool’s Gold) and Pallas Saunders, the owner of Weddings in a Box. Nick has learned from watching his parents that passion consumes and destroys. Pallas has learned from her family that love has to be earned. These lessons from an early age have caused Nick to be closed off and Pallas to be desperate to please the people she cares for. Unfortunately, her mother will never be pleased no matter what Pallas does. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more Happily, Inc. Whether this new series will inspire the same fondness as Fool’s Gold or not remains to be seen but it is well on its way. I can’t wait for the next in the series.

I would really like to be kind with my dissatisfaction with this novel, however, I am so disgruntled by it that I'm not sure I'll be able to be kind. But I will try. (Semi-Spoilers Here) Things I liked: 1- Interesting background -I've rarely read novels set in the desert. 2- Wonderful secondary characters for the most part. 3- The Alien wedding was interesting as was the Black and White Wedding (that provided a few giggles for me) What I was disgruntled with: 1- A lack of connection and sympathy with the main characters...I think this sort of story (Man feels he can't or won't love; Woman sorely miss-used by her mother, Father, Family)has been way overdone. 2 -Too many secondary characters that seem to blend into one type/one person (no distinct personality to me). I understand that this needs to be done with a first novel in what may be a long series, but it was a bit overwhelming to me. 3 -This is a 'was-rinse- repeat/formulaic story in so many ways ---not only does the author do this within this book, but the idea behind this book has just been over-done. There were no surprises for me. I read to get away from the stresses of my life and want to be 'taken away' by what I'm reading, this book did not do that for me and it sounds like all the further books will be using the same formula. Readers deserve better than this.

A great new series with a new setting and interesting cast of characters with some cross over from the author's Fool's Gold series to delight us. If you like a good chic lit with a little romance, a lot of character interaction and a great setting then this is the series for you. If you liked her Fool's Gold series then you will like this one as well. If you haven't yet read the Fool's Gold series then you have two fantastic series to choose from. One with dozens of stories and this one just getting started.

A great read by one of my favorite authors. A story of love, friendship, and family difficulties. The artistic aspects of the story are intriguing and add a lot of color to the story. I look forward to the second book. LA-TXN

This book is a good beginning to her new series. Hard not to compare this to her Fools Gold series but I think this one will be just as entertaining. I can't wait to see where all the character story lines go.

Pallas owns Weddings in a Box which led to some hilarious scenes. She has an extremely overbearing mother that led to some heartbreaking scenes. Pallas’ friends each have a business that supports the weddings. Her friends each have some quirks about them so I am interested to learn more about their back stories in the following books. Nick is a famous sculptor who is working as a carpenter for Pallas as he waits on a commission job. Nick is a good sport and a likeable character. I am assuming Nick’s creative brothers will get their own books and I am looking forward to that. I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. You can see my full review at More Than a Review dot com where I rate the level of sex, violence, language and drug/alcohol use in books.

I was really excited for this series since it changes the scenery, but the some of the characters are familiar. Susan Mallery once again knocked this book out of the park. The story line was realistic, as were the characters. We have seen Nick before, but Pallas is new and I loved her character to pieces. There is an inner strength within her of which many woman can relate. Her struggle with her mom, finding her inner stregnth, and everything else that she undergoes and contemplates are just a few things that bring forth the realism and make Susan Mallery an author EVERY romance reader ought to have. I'm so excited for the next book in the series and the continuation for the Fool's Gold and Happily, Inc. story line.

Susan Mallery does it again. I can't wait to meet more of her characters in the new Series in Happily Inc. I can't wait to see what Millie has in store in the future. All of the family issues are really issues that we all have, some more than others. So, I am waiting patiently for book 2...Thank you Susan!

I was nervous about this book as I loved the Fools Gold series and town so much. But Susan Mallery is my favorite for a reason. I'm falling in love with this new town and bringing some familiar faces from Fools Gold was a great idea. You will not be disappointed with this book.

You Say It First is everything I love about Susan Mallery’s books – a sweet, small town romance filled with family and friendship bonds to warm your heart. The first chapter put a smile on my face and I knew this was going to be a great story. Pallas is the new owner of Weddings in a Box, a theme wedding venue in the town of Happily Inc. Inheriting the business from the previous owner was a surprise considering Pallas has always planned on a career in the family’s bank. But her stormy relationship with her mother has Pallas questioning what career path to take. Nick Mitchell is a famous sculptor who comes to Happily Inc. to stay with his brothers while he is waiting for a new commission. To stay busy Nick applies for a job opening at Weddings in a Box, which becomes a new discovery for him and Pallas. Should they follow their dreams? And should they take a chance on love? You’ll have to read You Say It First to find out what happens. I loved how Pallas and Nick’s romance began. Their first meeting was funny and an early sign that their relationship was going to be a little wild and unique. There was great chemistry from the start and their romance was a slow build. The slow pace was perfect considering everything Pallas had to deal with and Nick was considerate and supportive during her troubled times. Because of their family issues Nick and Pallas both have doubts about love, which makes their romance even more touching because they both heal from their past. Author Susan Mallery develops characters that are realistic and likeable. I understood the pain Nick and Pallas felt because of their family and cheered them on as they dealt with their pain. You Say It First is a good introduction for Susan Mallery’s new series. The small town of Happily, Inc. is filled with a mix of characters I can’t wait to read more of. Nick’s brothers are characters from Mallery’s Fools Gold series but it is not necessary to read that series first. Mallery’s series have crossed over before and I love how she makes the connection. It’s as if she treats all her books as one big family, which I can’t wait to get to know better. You Say It First is a great start to a new series and perfect for all romance fans.

You say it first by Susan Mallery is the beginning of a new series. As a long time Susan Mallery fan , I'm afraid this book moved just too slow for me. I know there needed to be setup for a new cast of characters in a new series but did it have to be all done in the first book? I know how talented Susan is, so this won't deter me from her future books but this one for me was not a keeper.

I received this book free from the author in return for a truthful review. A worthwhile successor to the Fool's Gold series. I enjoyed this start to a new series. I always like Susan Mallery's romances they tend towards the lighter side. This book was no exception, a fun romance with humor and pathos.

I would enjoy visiting Happily Inc. Like any small town everyone knows everyone else and knows all of the good gossip. I liked getting to know Pallas & Nick. For a well known and talented artist he is really down to earth. PalLas is a typical heroine- à little flighty but very generous of heart. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and watching as Pallas and Nick got to know each other & fall in love. if you like Susan Mallery you will enjoy this book.

You Say It First begins a new, small town series of romances by Susan Mallery. It is a wonderful continuation from her sweet, small town Fool's Gold romances. In the new series, we are visiting the gorgeous, desert town of Happily Inc. and You Say It First introduces us to Pallas Saunders who runs a wedding chapel called Weddings in a Box. She offers her couple exciting, fantasy weddings with romantic and historical themes. Pallas loves her job but longs for financial stability and wonders if she make her business successful. Pallas struggles with not only financial concerns but also wrestles with her horrible relationship with her mother.
Nick Mitchell, a world renowned sculptor and wood carver, is also wresting with his own emotional and familial issues. He has moved to Happily Inc. to be closer to his brothers and to wait for a new art commission. While he waits, Nick has decided to apply for a job as a carpenter at Weddings in a Box.
Pallas and Nick are immediately attracted to each other but have no idea that they are both wrestling with similar family problems and seeking freedom from their past. Nick is a wonderful, handsome, accomplished man struggling with his fear of love and commitment. Pallas is a lovely, smart women wrestling with following her heart in both romance and business.
You will just love the chemistry between Nick and Pallas! Each are strong where the other is weak. They are well crafted, complex characters.
Happily Inc. is a beguiling town with wonderful, rich characters you will long to know. I cannot wait for Susan Mallery's next Happily Inc. romance!!! Mallery never disappoints! She brilliantly creates sweet, compelling, warm, wondrous hometowns we all long to live in and hot, sexy romances we can't wait to read!!!

***I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book*** I can tell this series is going to be just as great as Ms. Mallery's Fool's Gold series. The town of Happily Inc is introduced and its history is laid out for the reader. This tale is cute, funny, and well written as are all of Ms. Mallery's books. The story is about family, acceptance, personal success, and love. This series is going to give Ms. Malley's readers another avenue for great entertainment. Nick Mitchell left Fool's Gold for Happily Inc along with two of his other brothers to get away from their larger than life artist father. In-between commissions Nick liked to keep himself busy and taking a regular carpentry job sees him at Pallas Saunders destination wedding hall. Nick's parent's married life had many ups and downs which makes Nick fearful of "passion" or falling in love for himself. Pallus needs a carpenter but Nick it turns out is so much more. Pallus has always wanted her mother's approval and has at yet to receive it. Love wasn't on her radar either but it finds her all the same. Nick and Pallus each has something the other wants and needs although they fight it tooth and nail. Nick learns that passion and love are nothing to fear and Pallus learns that while her mother's approval would be great she has to learn that she has the right to be happy and work towards that goal.

I was so anxious to read this first book in the new series "Happily Inc" And it was definitely worth the wait! I always enjoy Susan Mallery's books. This was no exception! There was humor, love, quirkiness, friendship, family! All components I love in my books. It was nice seeing familiar characters from the "Fools Gold" series also! Great tie in! This is a great book to lay by the pool and read or just find your favorite reading spot and enjoy! Don't be surprised if you don't laugh out loud at some of the antics!
