New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Diana Palmer returns to the Cowboy State with a story of true love on the range.

Ren Colter may own an enormous ranch in Wyoming, but he scorns his wealth. He's closed himself off since his fiancée left him years ago, so he's shocked when he allows Meredith Grayling to stay with him. He tells himself it's only to protect the blonde beauty from a stalker, but Ren's alpha instincts soon kick in.

The last thing Merrie wants is a devastatingly handsome man like Ren lurking around her. He's too old, too experienced, too appealing for her already shot nerves. What she needs is just to get away from it all: the man haunting her waking dreams and the one hunting her like an animal. But no woman escapes this Colter cowboy!

Diana hooked me by the end of the first paragraph . Many issues were covered in the story and each done brilliantly . Loved meeting all the people from Jacobsville once again. Merrie and Ren's story had twists and turns but was worth it in the end. I was sorry the book had an ending.

Favorite Quotes: Both glistening black eyes were on Merrie, making comments that he didn’t even have to put into words. I can’t image people who don’t eat grits… It’s the seeds of barbaricism! Men aren’t perfect… Well, I am… But you can’t hold the rest of the male population up to such exacting high standards, right? My Review: I struggled more than bit getting through this one, as it just wasn’t my cup of tea, although some of my difficulties may have been due to picking up a book so late in the series as the backstory seemed overly complicated and the unfolding storyline was extremely far-fetched. The occasional hints of steam and all too rare and brief moments of levity were highly welcomed to break up the angst and heaviness of the melodrama, which, I will readily admit, just aren’t on my list of favorite things.

Poor writing style. Same story time after time. Couldn't even finish the book because the writing style is just too cheesy.

Beauty finds her beast with heartache, drama and surprisings twists along the way. Diana Palmer has been a one click author for me since the age of 18. Her colorful characters, family atmosphere and small town stories of action and suspense got me through my teenage years and have followed me into adulthood. Her legacy of strong women and fierce men with rough edges and kind hearts is the stuff legends are made of. Ren and Merrie prove to be another feather in her cap. Wyoming Brave picks up where Defender, Sari and Paul's journey ended and allows Merrie's to begin. The danger is real, but the unions that she creates within her make shift family prove as bulletproof as she turns out to be. From bad boy gangster's with soft hearts and shrewd minds, to captivating animals and beautiful rugged terrain Wyoming Brave will leave you breathless.

Title: Wyoming Brave - Wyoming Men Book 6 Author: Diana Palmer Publisher: Harlequin Published: 12-27-2016 Pages: 352 Genre: Romance Sub-Genre: Western, Contemporary; Women's Fiction ISBN: 9780373789948 ASIN: B01G1G8OZO Reviewed For NetGalley and put his heart into cold storage Reviewer: DelAnne Rating: 4.75 stars Diana Palmer returns to Wyoming with Ren Colter's and Meredith "Merrie" Grayling's story. When his fiancé cheated on him, he wasted no time in showing her the door Angie humiliated him and spread lies. Now there is no room in his life for any female. Ren put his heart into cold storage and has no intention of allowing anyone near it again.. Merrie has known pain and fear her entire life. Her friend Randall has brought her to his brother's ranch to keep her safe from a killer, but the danger to her heart may be greater. Fast moving and involved this story carries off where Isobel Grayling's story leaves off. I found myself not wanting to put it down. As usual, Diana Palmer brings her readers a story that pulls at the heart. There is action and adventure. The sea-saw romance as Ren learns to trust again and open his heart at the chance of love. From the moment you star to the very last page you will follow Merries's trials. Smile, laugh, gasp, and shiver. You will not be bored. My rating is 4.75 out of 5 stars.

I've always loved reading a DP book and am not sure if the writing was so just bad or if the editing was nonexistent in this case. Was the book outlined by DP and someone else responsible for this hot mess? There was a constant retelling of facts, never been kissed, treatment by father, can't dance, that when telling the second time around (or third) was as if it had never even been mentioned before. And when did it become okay for the hero to be a complete and total *hole. OK, he got his feelings hurt by his mommy (poor baby), when he was an *hole to her about her faith, he kicks his fiance to the curb cause she was a gold digger (kudos for this), and it seemed he pretty much shared sexual favors with his brother's lady friends all the time (Yuck!). Plus he was pretty much a bully to someone who had been terrorized her whole life even after she explained her father's brutal treatment of both her and her sister. Not sure how this sad book received any 5 stars on Amazon. Seriously people did you really read it or just say nice things based of the other fabulous DP books you had read? So glad that this was a borrow from the library as if I'd even gotten it as a used book, I'd have felt totally ripped off. Usually, I just ignore a bad book but this time, I just has to pass on a buyer beware warning. Finally, I'm a firm believer in the Thumper Rule when reviewing a book, "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all ". So with that, "It's nice that it was a library book!"

To better understand Merrie's history, you might want to read to Defender. It isn't necessary but it is helpful. That being said, I had a hard time with this story. Ren's "alpha" personality came across as abusive. If he possessed any kindness or compassion or concern for Merrie, I didn't see it. Or maybe I forgot it right after I read it? I'm all for a take-charge man--who isn't?--but he wasn't it for me. The final straw was when he offered money to Merrie for sex. Um, no. And what's not to adore about a virgin heroine? That innocence. Those "first time" emotions. The need to feel and experience it all with that one man her heart knows is her everything. Except Merrie's transition from virgin to not a virgin happened too quick for me. I didn't get that anxious anticipation, the nervousness, the overwhelming desire to slow down because--hello?--all of this is new, and exciting, and strange, you know? The connection they have is supposed to be one of the highlights of this story, as is Ren finally letting another woman claim his heart after his ex tore it all to shreds. Unfortunately, it just wasn't for me. I didn't get that heart-to-heart connection; it was purely physical. Awkward physical, but only physical. The dialogue distanced me from this story too. It was archaic at times for being a contemporary novel, and that made it difficult to indulge in or even enjoy. I wish I could have liked this story but there was just so much on top of the aforementioned. Every "alpha" has a redemptive moment in a romance. Ren didn't. Every innocent heroine has that moment of growth that comes with trust in their partner. I didn't get that sense with Merrie. I don't know if I'll read another book this series because even though I like Diana Palmer I'm not sure I can take another so-called alpha like Ren and an instant-seductress like Merrie. If you're looking for a fantastic cowboy romance, then Diana Palmer's latest release is the answer. Wyoming Brave captures the drama of romance between a hardened cowboy and an innocent young woman with a scarred past. This is the kind of story I adore. It's not a predictable tale of love at first sight, but one that starts with emotional baggage and hint of possible love. Looking past the extremely repetitive dialogue, readers will engage with Meredith Grayling as she runs from danger and into the home of Wyoming cowboy Ren Colter. Ren is holding a grudge against women after a disastrous break up. When his brother brings Merrie home Ren believes she's just another woman seeking to prey on him for his money. Is her innocence all an act, or will this talented artist be the woman to mend Ren's heart together? It's impossible not to race through the pages of the novel to see where the story leads. Merrie and Ren are a tough couple to bring together and it reflects in the writing. While Merrie wants to experience a true first love Ren wants to keep his heart locked away. She's soft where he's hard and cynical. He has a world of experience and she's never been kissed. It takes a while for Ren and Merrie to see eye to eye and the path leading there is filled with tears and misunderstandings. Wyoming Brave is all the sweetness you want in a cowboy romance and seasoned with a little suspense. I'm dying to read the previous Wyoming Men novels just to get a little more of Diana Palmers endearing storytelling. *ARC provided via Netgalley in exchange for honest review*
