So Katy tries a different approach—but a wish for popularity brings about trouble as well. Can her good intentions make up for the misfortune and disappointment that seem to follow every wish? Katy must battle the magic of the Fairy Queen and her henchman to undo the spells—but can she truly repair the damage she’s done?

I didn't feel lost, even though I haven't read this series and this book is #2.5. Of course, I'm sure I would know and understand the characters better if I'd read the other books, but I thought it was a great snippet of what the series is about. Katy is a witch at a school that was designed for witches, but is now mixed with regular people. The "normal" people don't know about the witches. On a special fairy hunt night, Katy finds the treasure and is granted her wishes, but learns that wishes aren't always what they're cracked up to be. I was thinking about what I would wish for and I think my wishes, as any, would only lead to problems as well. Things are the way they are in our lives for a reason. There were a few surprises and turns that I didn't see coming. I thought the ending was just right for this type of story. Content: a few swear words; some fantasy fighting violence that isn't graphic; kissing, with one scene that gets a little intense because of the wish. Clean. *I received a copy in exchange for an honest review*

Unfortunately she finds one and learns that wishes have consequences. Popularity may cost you your true friends and leave you with only shallow imitations, sudden wealth could cost you the life of one you hold dear, and beauty brings those who ignore you for what they want to see. The old adage "Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it. Follow Kaity as she learns what is important in life and how rich she really is. This is a very enjoyable read with delightful, lively characters and an interesting plot. I would very much like to read the preceding stories in the legacy series, but this novella can be read as a stand alone. Pick up a copy to read for yourself and find out why I think it is such a fun read. Molly Cochran has developed a place where magical beings live along side humans in peace. While the world she has created is in no way perfect it is truly believable because of its failings. I do not think I would want to live in perfect world or even visit, but I wouldn't mind visiting Kaity and her friends from time to time. I'd love to share a cup of tea and a long chat with her Grandmother and Aunt. Stop by a visit yourself soon and find why "Wishes is such a great book yourself.
