Merlin the magician and Morgan le Fay have mysteriously disappeared! To find them, Jack and Annie journey with their friends Teddy and Kathleen to a frozen kingdom of ice and snow. There they must go on a mission for the one-eyed Ice Wizard, Chased by wolves and braving terrible storms, they have only two things to heip them- a magic rpoe and the Ice Wizard's strange rhyme: take my sleigh And find your way To the House of the Norns In the curve of the bay. Pay them whatever They tell you to pay. Then bring back my eye By break of day.

I love the magic treehouse, and Winter of the Ice Wizard was one of the best of them all. Non-stop action from the moment they find the stone with a message from Merlin. My favorite part was when they found the sleigh after being chased by wolves. If you haven't already read this book, you should pick it up. There's no other way to learn why the Norns insist that you should never look at the Frost Giant!

The book I am reviewing is Winter of the Ice Wizard by Mary Pope Osborne. I think this book deserves three stars because it is a little strange. This book is about a brother and a sister who have to find the Ice Wizard¿s eye. They have to get past the wolves and the Frost Giant, and also get help from the norns. A problem that occurs in the story is that there is no way to travel. I would recommend this book to friends. Other books by this author include Day of the Dragon King, Ghost Town at Sundown, and many more!

Mary Pope Osborne may not be the most inspired children's author ever, but when you get right down to it, her books are a lot of fun. When you read the last page of Winter of the Ice Wizard you are not going to close the book overwhelmed and reflect on what you read. You are more likely to move right on to the next book on your list. And ten years from now, when you think about all the wonderful books you read as a child you will probably be thinking of other books, but in the meantime you will have a fun few days reading this one.
