Overview

One By One, They'll Die. . .

Twenty years ago, wild child Jessie Brentwood vanished from St. Elizabeth's high school. Most in Jessie's tight circle of friends believed she simply ran away. Few suspected that Jessie was hiding a shocking secret-one that brought her into the crosshairs of a vicious killer. . .

Until There's No One Left. . .

Two decades pass before a body is unearthed on school grounds and Jessie's old friends reunite to talk. Most are sure that the body is Jessie's, that the mystery of what happened to her has finally been solved. But soon, Jessie's friends each begin to die in horrible, freak accidents that defy explanation. . .

But Her. . .

Becca Sutcliff has been haunted for years by unsettling visions of Jessie, certain her friend met with a grisly end. Now the latest deaths have her rattled. Becca can sense that an evil force is shadowing her too, waiting for just the right moment to strike. She feels like she's going crazy. Is it all a coincidence-or has Jessie's killer finally returned to finish what was started all those years ago?

I typically love the novels by Lisa Jackson, they have suspence, mystery, and great characterization. "Wicked Game" had its fair share of suspence and mystery, however, it lacked in character development, and the ending was too open ended. I will admit though, that I was happy to see that the killer wasn't someone we could guess at. Not a bad book, but I wish it gave more information at the end. I like to know what happens rather than wonder when I have finished reading. If you are a fan of Lisa Jackson, don't hesitate to pick up this book. You may like it more than I did - A would give it a C+

The is the second book I've read by Ms. Jackson. I read Malice first and it was fair. I was disappointed in this book because of the end. She left way too many unanswered questions regarding other characters, so, I'm assuming there will be a sequel. If she doesn't do a sequel to this one, it will be the last time I read a book by her. I'm not really into her writing style. This one moved along a bit better than Malice, which was EXTREMELY slow. Good character development. I probably won't read anything else by her except the sequel to Wicked Game, if she does one.

I love all of Lisa Jacksons book-have enjoyed them all except for this one...The storyline started out great, pulled you into a great storyline, building the suspense, and then the storyline takes a drastic turn out to left field and WHAM it goes downhill from there. The last thirty pgs went really wacky esp when you find out who did it-completely unbelievable! I wont ruin the book just know that it is not Lisa Jacksons best work. The end of the books shows a excerpt from her new(er) book Malice and looks like a big DUD too :( if you still want to read, check it out at the library

This book is definitely forgettable. Half the book is about high school friends reuniting to rehash whether their friend Jessie left town or whether she really did die. Another 40% of the book is spent with a series of pointless deaths. The remaining pages of the book attempt to tie the story together but fails miserably. It kind of tells a story of incest and some man who is trying to kill two women who he thinks are the devil spawn but it doesn't really go into too much detail. The book is written by two authors and you can definitely tell when one person is dominating the writing more than the other person. I really disliked this book but felt the need to finish it. I would rate it at most a one out of five.

This mystery novel was very entertaining. I found the central characters to be likable, and the premise engrossing. Wicked Games is the first of three books that I don’t think are considered direct sequels, but they revolve around the same mysterious subject---a possible small town cult. There is murder, romance, and a touch of the supernatural. The sisters/authors included some truly scary moments. I look forward to reading the next volume.
