Overview

He emerged from the mist . . .

. . right in front of Cathy Weaver's car, running from would-be killers who were rapidly closing in. One look at his fog-shrouded form told Cathy this sexy stranger needed her help.

Victor’'s story sounded like the raving of a man at the brink of madness, but his status as a hunted man was supported by the haunted look in his eyes—and the bullet hole in his shoulder. As each hour brought pursuers ever closer, Cathy was powerless to resist this desperate man.

His kisses tasted of deception and desire, unleashing a thirst in Cathy that not even fear could quench. But was she giving her trust to a man in danger... or trusting her life to a dangerous man?

As always, Tess Gerritsen keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire novel. There were several mornings I went to work dog-tired and bleary-eyed simply because I could not put this book down.

Out of the 4 Tess Gerritsen books I have read, this one was good, but not quite as gripping as 'The Surgeon' or 'The Apprentice' It is still worth reading though. And the romantice interludes are a nice touch.

I love this story very much. I recommend the book Unveiled which has this story included in it's three 'short stories'. You will love them all as I did. So touching and surprising. If you're a book interpreter like me you'll love it.

This was a good summer read. Not as good as her Rizzoli & Isles series, but enjoyable none the less.

Once again the older books disappoint. Her forte really is the medical mysteries.

After reading the free sample, I found the premise intrguing enough to order the book. I was very disappointed; I’ve tried several times to read some of it just to see how it ends, but it doesn’’t hold my interest for long. I usually try to be very positive, but I must say I don’t understand the reviews. In addition to being entirely preposterous, the writing is sophomoric and contrived. The book comes off as a kind of young adult romance novel with touches of a mystery novel. For me it doesn’t work as either.
