John Mayer's newest offering, Where The Light Is captures the multi-Grammy Award winning, platinum selling singer and songwriter in the element where fans love him the most: live on stage. The special concert includes three sets: an acoustic performance, a rare set with John Mayer Trio (John Mayer, Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino), as well as a set featuring Mayer's full-band, all recorded during the night of December 8, 2007 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. This will be the first new release since Continuum and incorporates each of the elements that the five-time Grammy-winner is known for – acoustic songwriter, electric guitar slinger, bluesman, and vocalist. The 22-song 2 CD and DVD features a one of a kind song list made up of the three distinct performances. Highlights include many of Mayer's biggest hits ("Waiting On The World To Change," "Daughters," and "Why Georgia"), new interpretations of cover songs ("Free Fallin'," "Bold As Love," and "I Don't Need No Doctor") and a previously unreleased Mayer gem ("In Your Atmosphere").

This is a must have!! I can't quit listening to it, I know he's been around for a while, but somehow I have just gotten into him. Very sensual ladies, it's real good "mood music too"!! Get this if you haven't already, John Mayer Rocks!!!

The more I hear from John Mayer, the more impressed I get...and Where the Light Is is no exception. He has proven himself to be even better live than in a recording studio - the sign of a true talent. The only downfall of purchasing the record is the constant arguement in your head over whether the acoustic, JM Trio or Band set is the best.

Performed live at The Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, Where The Light Is not only again captures the award-winning guitarist and singer-songwriter in the element where many of his fans admire him--live on stage, bus even showcases him in what some hail as his finest hour. Filled with great performances, a splendid live theatrical atmosphere and solid reinditions of few of his biggest hits including Waiting For The World To Change, Gravity, Stop This Train, Daughters and Slow Dancing In A Burning Room, John Mayer delivers an extravagant live performance featuring both his original band line-up and unique acoustic or electric guitar solos that makes this wonderful concert DVD a timeless must for fans and admiriers of the virtuoso. What makes it equally great is a stunning appearance by The John Mayer Trio, who tears up the stage with their striking version of the Top Ten hit Who Do You Think I Was? (featured in their blockbuster album The John Mayer Trio Live!), which features the dynamic drums of Steve Jordan, one of the greatest rock drummers in history, while the trio dazzles the audiences with few other tracks. The trio's live reindition of Who Do You Think I Was can even in the Concert DVD's multi-single camera section). Running close to 3 hours, Where The Light Is--Live In Los Angeles is another great monumental live achievement from John Mayer--and another chart-topping smash hit (it even reached Billboard's Top Ten album chart)--that will always stand the tests of time as one of the greatest and highly accomplished rock recordings ever to be captured on album--and now DVD. So get out and pick up a copy of this timeless concert DVD, that way you can own another important chapter in John Mayer's rich and thoroughly creative music career!
