This is a story of a friendly man named Toine who is loved by all the people in his town. His wife is very cranky and tends to their chickens. One day Toine falls and hurts his back and is put to bed. His wife gets angry because he cannot help and he constantly has visitors. Oneday a visitor jokes that he could sit on the eggs untill they hatch and the wife decides to have him do just that. Not only do eggs hatch but so does a fatherly relationship between Toine and the chickens. The beautiful pictures are illustrated in watercolor. This would be a good book to use for character traits.
