Overview
Spring of 2020 brought to this world an unknown, Coronavirus! As time elapsed with the spread of this unknown disease, our Earth was thrown into chaos. Coronavirus, also referred to as COVID-19, emerged rapidly and many humans were instantly infected with no known knowledge of how to treat it. Our major cities had to quickly incorporate strategies to care for infected patients in health facilities that were unprepared and had limited PPE supplies. Cities were placed on lockdowns and every human was encouraged to wear a face mask when in public. Social distancing became a mantra. Schools were canceled, sporting events were canceled, and all types of entertainment were canceled. Parents were confronted with working from home and school age children received online education. Grocery stores limited the number of customers allowed to enter their stores, which resulted in long waiting lines to enter. Paper products disappeared from the shelves and many essential items such as eggs, flour, sugar, met and poultry were rationed. Each day became the same with a constant routine. Families with children experienced confusion with how to explain the changing world to their children. What Day Is It? Everyday Seems the Same is s story that attempts to facilitate parents and children with what a new normal might look like with the presence of COVID-19 in their everyday lives. Our new normal is unknown. Hope and her parents strive to make each day of the week special, helping to replace monotony with purpose.
