Way Down Yonder (1943-1944)

Way Down Yonder (1943-1944)

by Benny Goodman

2 New & Used Starting at $3.89

This valuable CD contains performances from 1943-46 originally recorded for World War II servicemen. VJC has fleshed out the original recordings with alternate takes and breakdowns which, due to the high quality of the music, makes this CD even more interesting. Gene Krupa is heard with Goodman's 1943 big band and in a trio with pianist Jess Stacy while the bulk of this set features the BG Quintet with vibraphonist Red Norvo during 1944 including an early version of the classic "Slipped Disc."
