About the Author

Originally from the United Kingdom, Morgan Sheppard now resides in Germany, although she freely admits to having left part of her heart in Wales. Morgan is the author of the fantasy series, World of Wraidd Elfennol, and also the contemporary, women's fiction novella, Disjointed Lives.

Whilst a writer mainly in the fantasy genre, Morgan is more than happy to share her love of reading amongst the many different genres out there, and can always be found with a book close by.

As well as reading and writing, Morgan spends her time looking after her family and trying to learn German. Unfortunately, a natural aptitude for languages doesn't appear to be one of her strong points. However, stubbornness is, so she continues to persevere. So far, Morgan is confident enough to order a beer and a pretzel.

Somewhere between Oz and Narnia, and not that far from the little alley that takes you to Hogwart’s, is a beautiful island called Wraidd Elfennol. The way that Rick Riordan brings to life the traditions of the Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Norse, Morgan Sheppard pulls her readers into the not so forgotten world of the Welsh, where magic is a way of life, and nature is something strong and powerful that must be kept in order. With strong characters and magnificent details, Sheppard takes her readers on an odyssey that leaves them laughing, gasping, and begging for more. A story that appeals to old and young alike, Water Weaver is as educational as it is page turning as it follows young and gifted Marella on her journey to discover who she is and what she is made of when she and the other Chosen of Wraidd Elfennol must travel to mystical lands in a desperate attempt to save their tranquil world from all the harm that can come from a world out of balance. Sheppard does her own weaving as she blends humor, fact, and poignant life lessons into a piece that reads like an articulate friend telling you a fascinating story in front of a cozy fire. She had hooked me with Marella, the first book in this series, but now I am an addict. Water Weaver is an extraordinary read that leaves you craving exotic foods, a warm cup of tea, and her next book.

Marella and her Partner, Nixie have been together for years as Marella has grown into a young woman and a trained Weaver. When Marella learns of her destiny as the Chosen of Water and learns of the challenges she will need to face in the near future, she has trouble grasping this. Not only is Marella chosen, but three other humans of different elements and their Life Partners, Nixie included. The eight of them are to restore the balance of the Elements before a year and a day passes. Some thief has stolen the sacred artefacts and the Chosen must either find them or create new ones. They must find balance together and put their strengths together to defeat this unknown threat. Catastrophe between the elements is causing a path of chaos and destruction among the different elemental villages. The Lords and Ladies of the Elements are blessing the Chosen, as well as the Scions of Elements. Love will spark in the least likely places and the Chosen will learn to get along together. I found this to be a very good book with an interesting concept! Not only did the author mix different mythological creatures, but she incorporated the elements and created a well-written book. When I first saw this book, all I could think was "There is 644 pages! How will I get this book done in the time I set it for?", but, surprisingly, it went by fairly quickly. The whole time there was never a dull moment and you really felt connected to these characters. This book gives a new meaning to opposites attract.(wink,wink.) The whole time I was reading this book I was rooting for Kia and Marella, but Daren and Marella had history so I thought it impossible. I really wasn't expecting the ending AND there was a good ending! I kind of wish the author could have put this book into two books, so it would be easier to digest, but other than that it was great. This is a book for most ages, if kids have the patience to read a long book.

*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.* Epic Fantasy meets sweet romance meets humor. This book was absolutely wonderful! Okay it’s long, it’s really long, but there isn’t a point in the book that drug or didn’t hold my attention. I was intrigued the entire book, from start to finish. There is action, there is incredible detail, there is some great romance that keeps you intrigued, and there is overall, a great story being told. Let’s talk about the length first. This book covers four main characters and four realms. Rather than breaking the book up into four separate novels, the author has chosen to include it all in one book. The biggest thing I look for in long books is are there any points that just didn’t peak my interest or drug me along. The answer on that is definitely no. There is always something going on. Detail and description are pretty stunning. When you are reading a fantasy book, as it is based on fantasy, a good author provides plenty of detail and description to keep you understanding and to provide for a great visualization. As I said above, this story is based in four different realms and this detail and description really brings to life these realms to the reader. It makes it easy to let yourself be sucked into their world. My only minimal complaint is to have just a bit more detail of the Kings or Queens of each realm. It was kind of fun to visualize them myself as I read but I would have liked a bit more detail about them. The romance. This book has what I like to call a sweet romance. There is no incredible detail or any real hot and steamy scenes. However, what is included in the story was perfect for it. It was enough to keep you reading to find out what happened next. There was one scene that was innocent enough but was sweet and pretty hot. So as long as you don’t require the nitty gritty to read a good book but like a little something going on, this was perfect for me! Let’s talk about the ending (calm down, no spoilers here). It ends with closure but kind of has a bit of cliff hanger. I’m not normally a huge fan of being left hanging. However, the story ends in a way that starts off the next book in the series, so in a sense, it was exciting too. The big thing to mention is you have closure for the first book! All in all, I’m very pleased with this story and I will absolutely be reading and purchasing more books from this author. She writes a well written, well rounded story. There aren’t any plot holes or major detail left out. The story didn’t drag and flowed freely from start to end. I would absolutely recommend this book to you!

This book has certainly earned the #Epic tag - at over 600 pages this is a book that you can submerge yourself into. However, it certainly doesn't feel like that amount when you are reading it as the pages almost turn themselves as the story carries you along. The characters are all well-developed and grow throughout the story as they have to learn how to work together, using and acknowledging their strengths and weaknesses. There are not only the four human main characters, but also we have four animal Life Partners too, who all have their own individual characters and quirks. With a smooth and flowing pace and a gentle tone, this book is suitable for all ages, with no grammatical errors or spelling mistakes that I noticed. Highly recommended. * I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!
