This is the most complete and up-to-date manual available for older Bugs and Karmann Ghias. Volkswagen's latest specifications for these earlier models are given to ensure that 1966 through 1969 models can be serviced and repaired according to VW's current official standards. This book features full wiring diagrams (including 6-volt systems), convertible top repair, carburetor rebuilding (30 PICT-1 and 30 PICT-2) and comprehensive specifications and troubleshooting tables for every year and model. Like the late-model Type 1 manual, this is the best source available for complete service and repair information.

A wonderful resource! Great step-by-step walkthroughs of many common fixes and maintenance work, as well as a wealth of tips to keep your VW running smoothly in-between service dates. A bit more Bug-centric than Karmann-Ghia, but there are ample notes where the two cars differ.A note to the second- (or third-, or fourth-) hand VW owner: a non-stock car will make some sections of this book useless. Overall, however, even a non-stock car will benefit from its owner having a copy of the book lying around.
