This was my favorite book as a child, and I learned so much from it. Now, my 8-year-old is reading it 'with a little help' and loves it just as much! I would absolutely recommend this book for any little girl who dreams of owning a horse!
I'm very pleased to see this title back in print as it is one of my childhood favorites. Though perhaps a bit dated for some tastes, I would still recommend it heartily to anyone with a young girl interested in horses and riding. As a bonus, it will give them a taste of the horse show circuit that was very different from that of today (Vivi mucks her own stall, braids, cares about quality of horsemanship and not how much her equipment or pony cost!).
This was my favorite book as a child. I have never forgotten it and I am thrilled it has been reprinted. This book will make a wonderful gift for any horse crazy child!
I received this in hardcover as a birthday gift about 22 years ago. As a young girl obsessed by horses, I was totally enamored of this book. I read it over and over, savoring details and dreaming of my own horse. At 30 years old, I'm now searching through my old books, trying to find it to read again!
