When it comes to The Hunger Games, staying alive means finding food any way possible. Katniss and Gale hunt live game, Peeta's family survives on the bread they make, and the inhabitants of the Seam work twelve-hour days for a few handfuls of grain--all while the residents of the Capitol gorge themselves on delicacies and desserts to the heart's desire.

  • French Bread from the Mellark Family Bakery
  • Katniss's Favorite Lamb Stew with Dried Plums
  • Rue's Roasted Parsnips
  • Gale's Bone-Pickin' Big Game Soup
  • Capitol-Grade Dark Chocolate Cake

I'm sure this cookbook is amazing! If you think Suzanne Collins is desprate, it's probably because you read the first page and thought, "Oh, this is so weird! What is going on?" and closed the book. Well, this book was recommended to me by a close friend, who I trust, so I went back and read the book. It was incredible. I was speechless. I read the whole series in less than a month. It's not just about death. It goes so much deeper. Please read this book. It will change your perspective on life. I am just ten and I loved this book dearly.

Stop arguing children. this is a place for reviews about the book, not for you to do some petty squabbling. the author of this book is doing one thing. working. This book is for someone to make a living and is riding the tidal wave of success this series has begun. i have read the first book in the hunger games trilogy. i found that book to be a little predictable; however, the characters and interactions make it a no brainer five star book. its aimed at teens and can entertain any mature enough audience. this cook book is based on many items discussed, and imagined no doubt and im sure will be fun for everyone who enjoys this mega hit series. expect to see hunger games parties, even though it seems disturbing to be like the folks from the capitol lmao.

I have yet to try any of the recipes in this book, however each and every recipe looks delicious. I do wonder as to how I can obtain wild game such as squirrel, beaver or tree rat (I know how to get venison, however it's rather hard to get in my city) I can't wait to make the lamb stew. I'm rather surprised people are using this book as to call Suzanne desperate. If you would just read the cover you would see Suzanne has nothing to do with this. "This book is unofficial and unauthorized. It is not authorized, approved, licensed, or endorsed by Suzanne Collins, her publishers, or lionsgate entertainment corporation." She's not making money off of this book, and even if she was why is it any of your business? She has every right to write a book and publish it as you do to purchase said book.

As someone who actually bought this book and is not commenting on it based solely on rabid fandom, this is a very good cookbook. It moves from believably authentic dishes (several require wild squirrel, big game, or the suggested rat) to silly throw-aways for fans (a grilled cheese sandwich with a "Hunger Games" name). The recipes range from simple (grilled cheese) to elaborate, and it even includes a beginner's herb and plant guide, similar to Katniss'. Overall, a very nice cookbook with some very unique, authentic recipes.

I went through the Hunger Games as a reference and i was like "oh wow here's the lamb stew" or "hmmmm dont remember this. I read one of the recipies to my mom and she was looking at me and practically saying " thats so abnormal and it sounds gross" i said."so u haven't read the Hunger Games i see!! It goes very well with the book and i definatley reccomend this cookbook!

Although I have not tried any of them yet, the recipes look tasty. For some of the recipes, you have to have read the books to see the significance of it. The cookbook is worth the money. Even if if you have not read the books, you would like the recipes. But really, read the books. They are AWESOME! :)
