Ms. Foster weaves another great story. Her characters are always interesting and well thought out, the same with her stories. Will read the next book in the series.

Under Pressure is the first in yet another spin-off series from Lori Foster. I've become rather invested in all of the characters from the previous series, so naturally I was eager to dive into Leese's story despite him being rather unlikable when we first met him. Of course, expect some cameos from the previous series to pop in, but the Body Armor series definitely has set itself apart with Under Pressure. Now I'm just going to come right out and say it, but this story definitely had an instant-love feel to it, and I feel like the chemistry always felt just a bit off as a result. Sure these two do have a connection given the situation they are thrown in, but I just never felt the romance was one that would last beyond the drama they found themselves in. I will say, however, that I was thoroughly entertained with the banter between Leese and Catalina. They had me laughing out loud a few times, and she was an even match for him in may ways so I did enjoy that aspect. I don't think that MMA was ever where Leese truly belonged and more like something he stumbled upon, so I was also happy that Leese finally found his niche with becoming a bodyguard. Overall, there were some high and low points for me reading, but I did enjoy reading Under Pressure and thought it a good start for a new series. I can't wait to find out what happens with the remaining cast of characters from the previous series, but I do also hope that we get a few books with the new secondary characters as well.

Hard Justice is the second book in Lori Foster's Body Armor series and as usual, I've jumped in after a series has started, but after reading Hard Justice, you can bet I'll be going back and getting my knotty little paws on book one, Under Pressure, to read all about Justice's friend. That being said, Justice Wallington is a huge, 6'5 muscle-bound ex-MMA fighter who is now a bodyguard for Fallon Wade, a overprotected, over-sheltered 24-year-old whose parents want her protected. Her mother also wants her to spread her wings and find happiness. Their first night ends in a disaster, but Fallon puts her foot down and Justice remains on the job. But Fallon's ex doesn't know how to take no for an answer and keeps showing up. When things heat up, Justice knows his feelings for Fallon are more than professional, and he'll do anything to keep her out of harms way. This was a total page-turner. Loved it from the beginning all the way through the very end! This is an exciting series and I can't wait to read more of it. Justice is a hot, sexy, protective alpha that has book boyfriend written all over him. Fallon is a funny, naive but so, so smart woman who just knocks Justice off his feet. A totally wonderful read!

Took me a little bit… To get into this after my high from finishing the ultimate series. But as always Lori Foster did not disappoint. She has a nack for writing such studly macho men being brought to their knees by strong willed women. Leese was exactly as I imagined him while reading the ultimate series, the covers always help with my imagination. Thank you Lori for that as well. And Cat was written to be someone I would love to have as a friend. I absolutely can't wait to read Justice's story. Happy Reading!

Lori Foster has done it again in her latest 'Body Armor' series. "Under Pressure" has all the elements we love reading in her books, with hot sexy men and feisty women. We met Leese in the MMA series, now turned bodyguard for Body Armor Security Agency, and he takes his job seriously while protecting Cat. The theme is suspenseful with the action fast paced, and the chemistry between Leese and Cat is hotter than a 'pressure' cooker. We have Justice as part of the Body Armor agency as well, with some familiar faces from the MMA guys when some of the them make an appearance. "Under Pressure" is a must read book for romantic suspense readers, I highly recommend it. At the end of the book, we get a novella of 'Built for Love' as a bonus. I look forward to reading 'Hard Justice' in the next book, which is Justice's story. As in any Lori Foster series, each book can be read as a stand alone. For me this was an easy 5 Stars!

I love the idea of this series so much! Former MMA fighters turned bodyguards? Yes please! And I really loved Leese and Catalina's story. Between the secrets and vile creatures posing as human being after Cat, this book has a lot to keep you turning the pages. It's the kind of book where you're sure about at least one bad guy and think you know the rest but a twist here or there has you wondering. It's also the kind of book where a sexy guy is protecting an innocent women with some close quarters to hide in. Hehe. I loved both lead characters. Leese grew up poor and has worked hard to get where he is. He was born with a protective gene and he's not going to take advantage of the situation. Cat is born to tease him. She grew up rich but with a heavy side of issues. Part of that was that she doesn't fit in high society. She's much happier drawing and teaching art. And she wants Leese. She tries very hard to convince him that he is not taking advantage of her. Yeah, he didn't buy it. Let the teasing begin! These two are adorable together and I so enjoyed their tango. One of the things I really like about paranormal stories is the high amount of protectiveness that is usually woven into it. This one has that same vibe. Don't get me wrong, Cat can take care of herself. She's a strong women who's managed on her own for a while. But when you need help with protection, you need Leese. I'm excited for more books to come in this series. We met Justice in this book and his story is next. I'm excited to see what it takes to get to this big guy! When you want a book that's more than just a sexy story, then you want a book like this one. Sexy, fast-paced and teasing, this book will definitely have you staying up late!

This was an intriguing and entertaining romantic suspense story. I enjoyed the overall storyline and the characters. Leese and Cat were both likable and they had a very instant connection. I liked Cat’s persistence and flirting with Leese and Leese trying to hold back considering the circumstances that they were involved in. They had a lot of fun moments together! I enjoyed the mystery suspense element happening but I was a bit confused in the beginning as things were being introduced. There is a nice bit of drama that had them on their toes and kept things moving along. The writing was good and fast paced, I was definitely interested and kept turning the page because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. There was just a lot going on to keep straight. This story contained multiple POVs which I did like, I always enjoy the perspective of the bad guy. I looked forward to who I would hear from next though sometimes it took me a minute to realize who I was hearing from. I liked Leese’s friends a lot, Justice and Sarah were both very dynamic. Justice is someone who's story I am definitely interested in. Lots of guys from the Ultimate Series made an appearance, which was cool to see because I always like character crossovers but it felt kind of forced to have them all there. I did enjoy the story and there were parts where I kept turning the page because the entertainment level was super high. Other parts were just good but drawn out and I could easily put it down and walk away. I liked Leese and Cat but didn't feel totally connected to them and never really felt their chemistry. So, it was good for me, just an enjoyable and likeable read. If you enjoy enjoy romantic suspense with a nice bit of fun and sexy mixed in, give this one a try. Very excited to get to Leese's story and it turned out to be a great first book to a new series! Old and loved characters returned while new characters were introduced into the fray. Loved the storyline and can't wait for Justice's book!

5 Stars! I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, suspense, secrets, and heartbreak. This is Catalina and Leese’s story. Leese is a bodyguard for the elite Body Armor security agency. His assignment is to find Cat and protect her. What is he protecting her from he does not know yet. Cat knows things that will get her killed. She overheard a conversion and is now on the run. Even know she knows she should run from Leese she feels safe with him. What happens when danger comes for her? Will Leese be able to protect her? Will they have to bring the danger to them to figure who all is after her? As the danger get closer and closer they are fighting there attraction but are they together because of the danger or because they are truly falling for each other? This story also pulled in some of the men from the Ultimate Series. Always nice to get a few updates on some characters we love and miss. I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

If you are regular followers of the website, you might have caught on the fact that I read about 90% of my books 'blind', not knowing how the cover looks like and who wrote the book, just open the file with the book's name and get going. This said to explain that I had no idea this was Lori Foster's work at the beginning, but soon recognized the characters from the MMA series, that this is a spin-off, and silently cheered with high expectations of the coming events. I loved the characters, they had a rare originality to them, distinct qualities, that were easy to recognize and relate to. Leese Phelps, who's story started in the previous series, is tough, protective, capable, and intimidating as a bodyguard, yet caring, loving, and so tender when it came to Catalina Nicholson. Cat was a bit more complex character to know. She is in a tough spot, her life is in danger, the culprits after her are merciless and brutal. She managed to hide for six weeks on her own, and now, just in time, Body Armor security agency steps in to help. Yet she is aware of the fact that one wrong move and her loved ones are in danger for their lives, as well. Trust is hard to come by in that situation, it is a tightrope she has to balance on, she is exhausted after her run and hiding on her own, yet to let lose and give up all the information she has could put everyone around her in danger. In this situation, in my mind, she had a lot of room to be difficult, whiny, or clingy, yet she shows a backbone and desire to stand for herself, and fight for the justice to be done. All her life she has been told she is different and doesn't fit in, and finally, she finds people who accept her, embrace her, and care for her just as she is. Cat's attraction to Leese is immediate, she is burning for him and not about to hide it. The temptation is great to Leese since his adoration toward Cat has been just growing inside of him the more he gets to know her. The connection, understanding, the awe between them is palpable and glowing with heat, the love scenes between them are scorching hot yet filled with tender, loving warmth. The secondary characters were drawn with distinct lines, especially Justice. There were intrigue and humor to them in just the right doses to wake the interest and have me craving to find out about their destinies. The suspense builds up through the tale, with surprising twists taking the plot into new directions. The crescendo at the end is filled with fierce, cruel, and ruthless, on the edge action that comes to a heroic, sudden ending. This story is a delightful mix of intense suspense, deadly action, and cherished romance with a compelling plot with curious twists, and fascinating characters that allured my mind, promising an energized and exciting series to come! ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

ARC received for an honest review In Lori Foster’s newest book we meet Leese and Catalina, she is running from something and he has been hired to look after her, but not everything is what it seems. The story was really good, the writing was superb as always but I did have some trouble connecting with the main characters, especially Catalina, I found her a little annoying which took away a little from my reading experience, that said, the chemistry between Leese and Catalina was super hot. One thing I did love were the side characters because they were so so compelling and you can just tell they have their own stories to tell. I ended up loving Sahara and Justice and I hope they get their own book soon. I would recommend this book because I think it was a great way to introduce us to this series and to this new world, with new characters that I’m sure are going to make amazing main characters in the future.

The Body Armor series is a spin-off of Lori's Ultimate series, so I am sure we will see some familiar characters through out. Leese Phelps has finally found himself...the perfect job, the perfect life...but that all gets tossed out the window with his newest assignment, protecting Catalina. Leese knows how to do his job and he never gets distracted, but things just don't seem right with Catalina...who is actually the threat? Catalina has relied on no one but herself, for years she has been an outsider even in her own family. How can she trust Leese with the one secret that could get them killed? The attraction is immediate for these two... we have Leese who knows better than to get involved with his assignments and Catalina who has very serious trust issues - especially with those who are supposedly on her side. We get introduced to secondary characters like Justice (his story is next) and Body Armor Security owner, Sahara Silver. We also get to see some of our favorite fighters from the Ultimate series, Cannon & Armie. The sparks fly, the danger ensues, and we have another fabulous story from lori Foster.

Received an ARC for my voluntary review for netgalley. I truly enjoyed book. Am so happy to have a book on Leese, and a start to a new series. Leese was hired to keep Catarina safe at all cost. The agency was not given the real reason as to why she needed to be kept from harm, they were hired by her stepfather. They ended up being a dupe, hired so that they could find Catarina. Catarina was running from her stepfather and some really powerful men. She was hilarious, you end up loving her, and her craziness. The cast of the previous books of MMA fighters shows up, and it is fun to read about them, you love them as always. Justice is a part of agency as well, and you can't wait to read his story next. Sahara is a new addition to the family, and you will appreciate her as well, she is feisty, and loyal. The only thing that I found missing was the woman, of the previous books. I would have loved to read what they were up to.

Lori Foster's Ultimate series is one of my all time fav sports romance series and I was super excited when she confirmed she was writing a spin-off, especially because book one was about Leese who I really wanted to see get his HEA. Leese is now working as a bodyguard and he's assigned to protect rich-girl-turned-teacher Catalina. Catalina is running for her life and very wary of everyone but she quickly learns to trust Leese, and she comes to depend on him. They share an immediate attraction which Leese tries to deny because he is on duty but soon they both give into lust and we get plenty of sexy times. Leese has really matured in this book but he's still the same nice guy he always was. Love him. Catalina was a great female lead and I liked how she was forthright about how much she wanted him. She was really fiesty in that regard. I did find parts of this difficult to suspend my disbelief - namely that his boss was okay with him shagging a client and the fact he was willing to throw his career away for someone he just met. There was plenty of suspense and danger to propel the plot forward but the setting was very lackluster. I ADORED the world Lori built in her Ultimate series and it just had something very special about it. This book lacked that special magical ingredient, for me, and while I did enjoy it, I can't say I was blown away. Perhaps I had built my expectation too high. It is still a decent romantic suspense and it's well written in Lori's usual inimitable style. Actual: 3.75 stars Thanks to the publisher for providing an ARC of this book via Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

If you have read any of the MMA series by Ms. Foster, you will already know Leese. He was not my favorite character at first, but I love how through the MMA books and in this story, you learn how he has turned his life around. I have been waiting impatiently for his story to come out! This is the beginning of the Body Armor series, and it highlights a spin off world to the MMA series of Ms. Foster, including appearances by favorite characters. In this book, Leese is tasked with protecting Cat, who is in danger from the moment she appears in the story. What follows is a story full of depth building their relationship. Cat has been burned before, on multiple counts and sides, so I loved reading about how she came to trust Leese and I loved reading about how their relationship developed. It was also great seeing Justice appearing in this story and starting to learn about the characters that we will meet over the next books. I can’t wait until the next book in the series! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book

In the very beginning of Lori Foster’s new series you instantly wonder what Catalina Nicholson is running from and why Leese Phelps is hired to protect her. Fans might remember MMA fighter Leese Phelps from “Holding Strong” (The Ultimate Series) and the trouble he caused, but in “Under Pressure” Leese has definitely redeemed himself. He is now a bodyguard at Body Armor, an elite protection agency. He’s protective, smart, and the perfect guy to keep Catalina safe. Cat is from a wealthy family, though she never felt like she fit in. Having overheard from some very influential people about a murder, Cat is on the run. It’s Leese’s job to protect her while trying not to give in to his attraction toward her. Needless to say they both try but eventually give in. Filled with new characters and a visit from old ones, “Under Pressure” has the classic good versus evil trope. With any Lori Foster book we know she’ll send in sexy alpha heroes to save the day. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series with these sexy bodyguards when they’re released – “Hard Justice”, “Close Contact” and “Fast Burn”.

Fast paced suspense – “Under Pressure”, Book One of  Lori Foster’s newest Series “Body Armor” is Leese Phelps Story. Leese is a well know character from Ms. Foster’s “Ultimate” Series.   Leese has retired from the MMA world and made the move to a job with a Security Agency “Body Armor”, and his newest assignment is Catalina Nicholson, he has to locate and protect her at all costs, but he soon feels something is not quite right in the whole scenario and takes steps beyond what would be normal.  Catalina does need to be protected, but she has a terrible secret, one that might destroy everything she has known, Leese is working steadily to discover all of Cat’s secrets, and working himself into her life.  With twists and turns, and yes some funny moments, this is a great love story, and Ms. Foster hits the mark once again.  A great beginning to a new series, looking forward to reading them all.  Thanks Lori for another great read.  “I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book”.

Leese is back! He finally gets his HEA, after he joined the Body Armor security agency, it was great to see him finally get the (right for him) girl! This book has plenty of intrigue and twists, it is hard to tell which way is up at times. But the passion and attraction between Leese and Catalina is on point. I really enjoyed seeing where Foster took the body guard and client troupe. Lots of suspense and very creepy bad guys in this one. I really enjoyed Cat's artistic abilities and her heart for teaching. Let's just say that the drawing scene with Leese and Cat was very hot. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. But I love this one so much I am buying my own print copy too.

I am always excited to get my hands on a new Lori Foster book. However Leese’s story was not something I was prepared for. I knew him from the Ultimate series and while he is a side character in that series he really left an impression on me. I am so glad his story is finally being told. Leese’s character is so much more complex than I would’ve thought. He feels compelled to protect the little person no matter what. This is due to an incident that happened before he became the good guy he is now. When he first gets assigned to protect Catalina he does so no matter what. At first he is of course completely professional but he can’t help but enjoy her lack of filter. Cat is always saying anything that comes to her mind. Most of the time its to compliment Leese’s manly physique or tell him how chivalrous he is. Leese of course never believes her and keeps her at arm length. However when things get more dangerous and they are in closer quarters will he let his guard down long enough to let her in? Catalina had so many layers I’m not sure even when I finished the book that we peeled through them all. At first she seemed like a timid little mouse, but the more you read the more you saw she was courageous and amazing. All of Lori Foster’s female characters match the men in bravery and courageousness. It is one of the main reasons I am always drawn to her books. Catalina poses all of these characteristics and more, she is unbelievably selfless. She always wants to sacrifice herself in order to save others. She doesn’t want Leese to get hurt protecting her, let alone anyone else. I really enjoyed her easy banter with Justice in this book. She seems to get along well with everyone in this book so its hard to believe that anyone would want to do her harm. However the people who want to do her harm mean business. Will she be able to tell Leese and the rest of Body Armor all of her secrets before time runs out? I am so excited that we get to see the Ultimate fighters back in this book. I was hoping for a glimpse of one or two characters, however Lori Foster exceeded my expectations. I loved how when they did come back they just melded into the book like they had been there the whole time. Throughout Lori’s books she creates families that extend beyond series and that is just amazing. You never have to read the books before, every book can be read as a standalone. However I really enjoy seeing past characters come into play in future books

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This first book “Under Pressure” in Lori Foster’s new Body Armor series is great start to what I hope is a fantastic new series. I’ve been waiting to see Leese redeem himself since we first met him. Our first glimpse at Leese was not a very good one back then but he has certainly redeemed himself and won me over for sure! We are introduced to Catalina in this book and she’s a feisty woman that wants to stand on her own and has every reason to not want to get close to anyone because she doesn’t want them to get hurt by people she once trusted. Leese and Catalina have to work together in order to bring down powerful men that have hurt a lot of innocent people. Leese is able to work with his new boss, Sahara, owner of Body Armor Security Agency to figure out how to catch the bad guys and keep Catalina safe before it’s too late. All the while, Leese and Cat slowly fall for one another and find out what it is to truly realize what it means to sacrifice and love someone else. I am really excited about this new series (as I am for pretty much all Lori’s books/series). I love visiting characters from previous books. Next up is Justice and I’m really looking forward to his HEA.

Leese Phelps' life hasn't always been easy, but he ended up friends with Cannon, Armie, Stack, and Denver who helped him grow into the man he is today. After leaving professional fighting, because he realized he wasn't title belt material, he became a body guard working for the elite security organization Body Armor. Which just happens to also be his perfect job. Leese's newest assignment, wasn't one he was sure he was going to like, but what she lacks in size she makes up for in fire and backbone. Catalina Nicholson is a dangerous complication, considering the man that hired Body Armor to protect Catalina is also the one who is after her. Catalina's father is mixed up with some bad people and she overheard a conversation involving some powerful people and now they either want to entrap her, kill her, or put her on house arrest. Depending on who you ask. Catalina keeps dangerous information from Leese and the owner of the security agency, getting people injured. She doesn't know who she can trust, thinks that every bodyguard is out to get her, and is on her own. Until Leese and Justice that is. He builds her trust, he tries to stay professional but also the chemistry between them draws them together, can a relationship built in a dangerous situation blossom or flounder? With the help of Leese can they expose a deadly secret and stay alive? I love Lori Foster's books and I always look forward to reading her new releases. After meeting Leese, Justice, and Miles in the Ultimate series I was looking forward to getting to know these characters better. I was rooting for them to get their HEAs too. Once I started reading this book, I kept wondering what was going on, why am I getting aggitated with these characters? Turns out, it was Catalina's character that was bugging me. I am used to Lori writing strong independent heroines, but Catalina seemed to be weaker than the norm. She was always scared that Leese was letting someone in to harm her, even when she knew it was a friend. She even called Leese naive at one point, knowing he was a fighter. I loved the story, getting to know Leese, and seeing everyone again but Cat just irritated me. I did love the story and can't wait for Justice's, I hope that he ends up with who I think he will. That is one woman that will keep Justice on his toes. Received ARC in exchange for honest review from NetGalley

Wowzer!! What a fantastic start to this series. This book captured my interest from the very beginning. It is intriguing and kept me wondering what was going to happen. I couldn't put it down. The plot is unique and only something Lori could come up with. I love that about her books, they aren't the typical romance stories. I've liked Leese since he was introduced in the Ultimate Series and have loved watching his transformation. I loved Cat's strength and independence, even in the face of danger. When these two meet, you feel the instant attraction, but more so the connection. The chemistry is off the charts between Leese and Cat, you can feel the sparks flying. This book is hot, sexy, witty and action packed. And I absolutely loved having the characters from the Ultimate Series make appearances. I'm excited for this series!! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 Stars Lori Foster has started off her new series with a bang! We've met Leese in her Ultimate series. This one kept me on the edge of my set because I just didn't know the twist to come. This one had me from the beginning to the last page. It is one that you can't to read, but you put off finishing it because you just don't want it to end. This is definitely a book I look for when I pick up a Lori Foster book. I loved the characters. I also enjoyed Leese's fighter friends from the Ultimate series make a cameo. I look forward to more from this series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
