%27Uncle+Tom%27s+Cabin%27+educated+Americans+about+the+truth+of+slavery+in+America.+The+book+does+display+some+prejudices+regarding+African+Americans+that+are+antiquated+and+quite+ridiculous+but+still+manages+to+give+a+thorough+and+educational+view+of+the+many+facets+of+slavery...+Both+for+those+in+captivity+and+those+who+owned+slaves.+I+grew+up+in+a+generation++that+mocked+and+hated+the+mindset+of+%27Uncle+%27Tom%27+so+was+so+surprised++to+find+myself+loving+and+relating+to+him+on+a+spiritual++level.+It+saddens+me+to+realize+that+Uncle+Tom+has+become+such+an+icon+for+hate+and+bitterness.+In+reality%2C+he+is+an+imperfect+example+of+what+we+all%2C+as+followers+of+Christ%2C+should++aspire+to.+He+understood++the+importance++of+laying+down+his+life+for+those+around+him%2C+black+or+white.+The+story+exemplifies++Matthew+19%3A30+where+Jesus+says+that+many+who+are+last+shall+be+first.+Thank+you%2C+Harriet+Beecher+Stowe%21
