Overview

Dante Gabriel is starving. What he craves is red gold--human blood. After being held captive as a blood slave to a female vampire for years, he has finally escaped. Unchained at last, he follows his nose to the nearest blood bank to sate his hunger.

ER nurse Erin Hamilton expects just another busy night shift...until she finds a gorgeous stranger vandalizing the hospital blood bank. Though her logic tells her to turn him in, she's pulled by stronger and unfamiliar emotions to protect the man who seems oddly infatuated with her scent. Chemistry sizzles between them, but Dante, plagued by nightmares of his time in captivity, fears he won't be able to control himself...especially when he discovers a secret she doesn't even know she's hiding.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️+1/2 Content Rating:18+ Genre: Romance, Paranormal Vampires Published:2018 Unchained (Blood Bond Saga #1-3) by Helen Hardt includes the first three serials in this series. I have reviewed Blood Bond #1, and you can read that review on my blog; https://pageturnerreviews.home.blog This review is of Blood Bond #2-3 only. The good news is this three-book set is free on Amazon. Now for the not so good news, I was hoping that the writing style would get better, sadly it did not. Please note that I have not read any of Ms. Hardt’s other books, and this is personal opinion. While the story has potential, the writing makes it difficult to enjoy. I found the writing to be very simple and repetitious. And because of this, the characters started to annoy me. The same thing kept happening, over and over again. I understand that the author was trying to build suspense, tension, and heat between the two main characters, but a seasoned author should be able to accomplish this in an exciting way. In my opinion, this was not the case. I am adding the half star because the book was free. For me, this will be the end of the road for this series.

I gave this story 4 stars because it was a fun twist to a vampire romance.

I enjoyed the book and it kept me entertained. However, there are just so many times you can use the same language to build intensity. I feel like I just wanted a little more content and not diversion. Overall good read if your looking for mindless stuff. Not good if you want yummy make you pant stuff. No real bond is created between reader and characters either. At least for me.

The basic plot is sound. The characters are good. The concept for a novel is great., but there is so much repetition and stalling that it gets frustrating. So far their are two books in print with one scheduled to be released later in the year and several more planned for the future. I can’t help to think that the first two books could have been combined to achieve a must tighter better pasted novel. Had to fight to finish it. Will I purchase the second book, in the future maybe, but not right now.

I have a special love for vampires and when I discovered an ad on Instagram for this series, I realized soon after I began the first book - I couldn't put it down!

Well I have to say at first this book started off a bit slow for me, but I’m happy to say I was still unable to stop reading. It was definitely one of those books you can’t put down even though you know you have stuff to do, but instead you just keep putting it off for just one more page of reading.... which then turns into well I’ll stop at the next chapter... only to turn out that your almost done with the book anyways so you finish it. I’m definitely hooked and looking forward to finding out what happens next!

Unchained by Helen Hardt is Vol 1 (1-3 books) in the Blood Bond Saga. Starts the story of Dante Gabriel and Erin Hamilton. This starts a 6 part story line for this Blood Bond Saga. They are quick reads but ones you just want to grab the next one so fast. This book starts with Dante being free from being held for several years and him needing blood. It leads him to meeting Erin who they have a instant connection...where he only wants to protect Erin even if that is from himself. Erin is a independent strong women but somehow she feelings drawn to Dante enough to do things she would normally not do. I have always enjoyed a good Vampire romance story but now with Ms. Hardt writing it brings more joy and excitement to my reading. This is such a great start to a awesome series...I am hooked!
