Overview

A repackaged edition of the revered author’s anthology of satirical yet serious essays on evil.

In these spirited essays, C. S. Lewis—the great British writer, scholar, lay theologian, broadcaster, Christian apologist, and bestselling author of Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, The Great Divorce, The Chronicles of Narnia, and many other beloved classics—discusses evil in the world. Blending irony, humor, and paradox, he tackles religion’s most difficult and intriguing questions regarding immorality, belief, and the meaning of prayer. Best of all, the infamous Screwtape makes a special cameo appearance in this funny and poignant collection.

This book is a collection of more or less miscellanious essays including one oration by the ever popular Screwtape himself. This copy like, many free ones, suffers somewhat from textual errors, in this rendering, however, they are fairly obvious and easily discounted. As to the quality of the content it was written by C.S. Lewis, need I say more?

Considering that Lewis died more than half a century ago, these essays are surprisingly contemporary.

A very enjoyable Lewis meal of more than a single course. Each a delectable Lewis serving, neither better than the other. Sadness only appears when you know you are thorously enjoying his sweets of dessert, not wanting the thu gh to be knowing the meal is almost all gone. A muli-course "snack", Lewis style. Very good, varied in topic, but best....C.S. Lewis! My fondest wish is that he and the apostle Paul are collaberating on reading materials for the eternal child of God to enjoy for eternity.
