The perfect gift for fans of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels and HBO’s Game of Thrones: a collection of wicked one-liners from the incomparable Imp of Casterly Rock, fully illustrated by Jonty Clark!
“My mind is my weapon. My brother has his sword, King Robert has his warhammer, and I have my mind . . . and a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone if it is to keep its edge.”
The jealous masses of the Seven Kingdoms may call him Halfman, but none have ever accused Tyrion Lannister of being a halfwit. His golden tongue has saved his skin slightly more often than it has landed him in mortal peril. Now, this special illustrated volume preserves his most essential knowledge for future generations, featuring time-tested guidance on such varied subjects as . . .
The art of persuasion
“The best lies are seasoned with a bit of truth.”
Fine dining
“A little honest loathing can be refreshing, like a tart wine after too much sweet.”
The fair sex
“The young ones smell much better, but the old ones know more tricks.”
Royal politics
“Crowns do queer things to the heads beneath them.”
Common ailments
“A sword through the bowels. A sure cure for constipation.”
At once charming, insightful, and ruthlessly irreverent, The Wit & Wisdom of Tyrion Lannister is short on pretense and overflowing with finely crafted gems—just like the man himself.

Of all the hundreds of characters that George RR Martin has created, the heroes and the fools, the kings and the queens, the likable and the hated, none are smarter, funnier, wittier or more lovable than the dwarf. Ahhh, what irony! I just finished reading this little gem, sure there is nothing new here but the best and the boldest of Tyrion's lines in one tome! I highly recommend this for all Song of Ice and Fire fans!

B&N.... thanks. That "sample" was INCREDIBLE!!! I found the ISBN number information as well as the publisher info FASCINATING!!! I was completely engrossed for all of FIVE WHOLE SECONDS. The copyright date totally hooked me and I could not put my tablet down. What an AMAZING sample. I honestly feel like I don't NEED to buy the rest of the book because what could really be added to those opening pages that could possibly top WHERE this book was published? Nothing, that's what. I am truly inspired now and can continue on with the rest of my life. Thanks Barnes&Nobles!!

I thought at least there would be some new quotes, but nope nada. Oh, well, another $10.00 down the drain. That's what I get for not listening to the other reviewers.

Love this chracter and plan on purhasing at the brick and mortar. Was hoping the sample could have provided more examples of the illustration as no one needs to be convinced that the quotes are pure gold.

3 pages of neener neener. Really, B&N? This is what you call a sample? Even Amazon offers more than what you did here.

If you buy this book expecting to find a multitude of ironic, funny, sarcastic comments from Tyrion, save your money. This book isn't worth even the cost of the electronic version.

This was supposed to be a gift for my boyfriend, who is obsessed with Game of Thrones and particularly loves Tyrien Lannister. I just happened to come across it online and bought it immediately; bonus that it was on clearance. I received the book and was disappointed to find out that there is a large sharpie 'slash' across the bottom of the pages. Will it affect the readability of this book? No, of course not. I ordered two other books for myself also from Barnes & Noble's clearance sale and they too had been marked up. So while I haven't read this book, I can say that if you order if past 7/7/16 then be prepared to receive a marked-up copy. It is as if Barnes & Noble is not getting the full profit they originally desired, they feel that you should get a sub-standard version.

Not to me, i never weary of his antics.

Giving a free "sample" that has 3 pages, which only includes the cover, title page, and information page does not give me much to decide if it's worth my money. My guess is that it must just be some illustrations with quotes from the book and nothing more, or I would have been able to read at least the first few pages of content. Which is a shame, because if I had gotten a sample of the book I probably would have considered buying it.

Tyrion is by far my favorite character. Along with Jon Snow and Arya Stark.
