I've been on diets, I've been off them just as quickly, I've cheated and justified every slip up with I'll just work out for an extra five minutes. This plan, program, book of knowledge, is not a diet, it is a challenge you accept because everything else has failed and will continue to fail unless you figure out the intricacies of your body and why it does the things it does. I started not for weight loss, though I'm hoping that is a perk I will experience, but for getting to the bottom of my constant GI issues and various other pesky medical conditions that by anyone else's standards were perfectly normal, acceptable nuisances..... Bloating, irregularity, adult acne, skin sensitivity, fatigue, headaches...lots of them. I'm on day 24, I am not out of the woods yet but I will tell you that I am never going back to my unhealthy habits. My health and my family are far too important to spend the rest of my life not caring about the consequences of food choices. The only reason for 4.5 stars is I wish there were even more recipes, which by the way all of them are truly simple and delicious.

This is a wonderful book and way of life. If you are tired of being tired, sluggish, and your clothes being too tight, this is for you. I feel so much better, I have more energy, no more heart burn, no PMS, no afternoon drowsiness, my anxiety and stress is greatly reduced, cravings are gone, emotional eating is gone and I am sleeping better. I had major non-scale victories. I lost 23" over my body in 30 day; 14" of the 23" lost was in my bust, waist, gut and hips. I lost 12.4 pounds, but the scale is 3rd priority now behind how I feel and how many inches I lost. I feel so much better, I started another Whole 30 the day after I finished the first one. Loving my life! No more emotional eating, no more obsession with the scale.

Even if you are not planning to undertake the entire Whole 30 diet, this is an amazing book. Learned a lot about basic food prep, doing things healthier . I have tried numerous recipes and all are delicious. Cooking with natural ingredients has really helped my family feel better. There is prep work involved, but if you plan out several days, some can be done at the same time and bagged in refrig. I had said I wouldn't buy another cookbook since recipes are easy to find online, but I'm glad I purchased this one.

I learned a long time ago that you can’t depend on one source for everything that you need to know, especially when it comes to your health and weight loss. Even though, I lost an incredible 16 pounds using the “Hungry Chick Dieting Solution” by Chef Jai Scovers and her cookbook, “Simple, Healthy & Delicious,” I am still looking for ways to maintain this weight loss. That is why I love this book. The Whole 30 does an excellent job of tackling the habits and the emotional eating that lead to so many weight issues for many people. This glimpse into this type of eating can help you change not only your approach to food, but the way that you eat as well. As with another review, I love the recipes in this book as well. I love any book that can provide shopper friendly list that allows you to get everything you need in one place and then show you how to make great food with it. Overall, this is a great book. Also, ask yourself… Do you know the difference between baking soda and baking powder? Or how long raw eggs will last in your refrigerator? What is “resting time?” What is the proper temperature to even cook chicken? If you don’t know the answer to even one of these questions, then buy yourself a copy of “Conquer Your Kitchen” from Chef Jai Scovers. A friend reccommended trying the Whole 30 and I'm so glad she did! Some of the positive results I've noticed is a thinner wasteline, a more positive mood, increased energy, better sleep, improved complexion, and I was able to stop taking my anti-depressants - with approval from my doctor of course. I would highly reccommend trying the Whole 30 to anyone. You will see positive results guaranteed!

Checked out the latest cookbook just released and found that I liked the recipes in this book better. Simple with servings for 2; plus I like to retain the concept behind Whole30. The newer cookbook would be appropriate for people who do family meals. Shopping at Barnes and Noble is a pleasure; their employees are so friendly and helpful.

I am not wasting my money on another book by these two.
