Any horror story involving children is automatically made creepier by the juxtaposition of innocence and horror. These children should have been paying better attention to their town's urban legend. I wish there were more details about the earlier history of the house, however. An enjoyable read from a talented writer.

this would be a good campfire story for scouts or church groups. just creepy enough, but not too bad.

I like Moore, but this was not his best story. It just kind of petered out. If you looking for a good story by him try his Serenity Falls trilogy!!
