From this USA Today bestselling author comes a delightful summer read about friendship, family, and the healing power of love.

Callie Weaver and her best friend, Olivia Dixon, have finally done it: put their life savings into the beach house they admired through childhood summers, on the dazzling white sand of North Carolina's Outer Banks. They're going to buff the salt from its windows, paint its sun-bleached sidings, and open it as a bed-and-breakfast.

Callie's too busy to think about her love life, but when she catches the attention of local heartthrob Luke Sullivan, his blue eyes and easy smile make it hard to say no. He's heir to his father's real estate empire, and the papers say he's just another playboy. But as they laugh in the ocean waves, Callie realizes there's more to this man than money and good looks.

Just when true happiness seems within reach, Callie and Olivia find a diary full of secrets . . . secrets that stretch across the island and have the power to turn lives upside down. As Callie reads, she unravels a mystery that makes her heart drop through the floor.

Will Callie and Luke be pulled apart by the storm the diary unleashes, or can true love save them?

Great story! I couldn't stop reading to find out the ending! I loved the unique proposal, which I don't want to give away and spoil for others.

I love sweet books and The Summer House ranks right up with the best of them. It has a simply lovely story coupled with just enough tension and great characters. Great for summer reading. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was an adorable, fun summer read that will be perfect for reading on the beach this summer. The characters are likeable, and easy to connect with and the romance is exciting and sweet at the same time. I loved the Outer Banks settings and the renovations on the beach house were fun to read about. There was also a little mystery and some family drama that added intrigue to the plot. Overall I really enjoyed this book and think most people will also enjoy this fun beachy read!

This is my first book by Ms. Hale and I will say I was not disappointed. What a fun read. I loved the friendship between Callie and Olivia, they had this unbreakable bond that no matter what one faced they were there for each other. I hope to read Olivia's story some time soon. My heart broke a little for Callie she had faced so much and was afraid to love again, but she had this independent ready to kick butt if necessary. I really liked how this has a twist in the book that I didn't see coming and that this book was a good clean read. I think the only thing I missed was I wished that both Luke and Callie had parts in the book I would have loved to read more about Luke and his thoughts as the story was going on since he was such a big part of the book. Overall I don't feel like his story wasn't necessarily told but I wish there was more from him if that makes sense. Over all I found it hard to put this book down it was very heartwarming and captivating. You really can't go wrong with this fun love story. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

It took me a little bit to settle into this book, but it was a really quick read once I got into it. I love books with girlfriends who are there for each other and that’s exactly how this book starts out. Callie and her girlfriend Olivia are renovating a beach house into a B&B. Neither is looking for love or the complications that it tends to bring, but of course that’s exactly when Callie runs into billionaire Luke Sullivan. I really enjoyed the scenes with Callie and Luke. They were both a bit hesitant and wanted to trust each other before completely falling head first in love. I won’t give the plot away, but this was a great story filled with the sweetness of new love, overcoming misconceptions, family dynamics and a bit of mystery thrown in as well. The perfect combination for a spring/summer read! **Complimentary book provided by Forever in exchange for my honest review**
