Overview

When Adam Bradford's sister goes missing he drops everything to assist the police, travelling up to the isolated village where she lived.

When he arrives at her cottage, however, he discovers a life in disarray and a bedroom filled with cryptic notes and mysterious blurred photographs.

At first he puts this obsession down to some kind of psychological disorder, but after he experiences a series of disturbing events he begins to question whether there is any truth to the myth of the Slender Man.

Also includes a free short essay on horror.

CAN'T RUN LEAVE ME ALONE ALWAYS WATCHES NO EYES FOLLOWS NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO DON'T LOOK OR IT TAKES YOU These are all the words from the SLENDER game. If you are scared of the dark, don't play it. It also might be a bad idea if you are scared of a tall, pale, faceless man with tentacles coming out of his back and he lives in the woods and he never moves while you are looking at him(you just turn around and he is off in the background) and he puts papers with horrifying things about him and every time you get an odd number of pages you get another sound added to the audio and then the audio gets insane and you are in his woods with only a flashlight and you ant to find all 8 of his pages and if you get caught by him you die and the more pages you get the more relentles and bent on killing you he gets. But no mater what you are scared of, NEVER play it in the coldest room of your house with headphones and the lights off. You will pee your pants.(this goes the same with AMNESIA, but that is a whole nother story. -GigaHero

I have searched high and low for a good Slender book for a while now, and I did enjoy it. It wasn't "Oh good Lord I can't leave my house now" scary, nor was it like the monster jumped out and shouted "BOO!!!" I wish it could have been longer, (only 137 pages kidies) and that the caractors could have had some depth. It jumped head-first into the proboem and setting, which is usaully what I would rather over a dull and dragginng beggining, but I did want to know where he was, how far from Swinwood is he in miles, who he was, and why his sister Hannah decided to move into that dreadful cottage. I don't have to many complaints for the middle, exept for one thing. Cameron tells Adam that he has only connect with Hannah through messaging online. If that is true, how did he know where she lived? Moreover, how did he know his way with the house? I would like to also know how Hannah knew what Soenderman was. If you see something for the first time, you have no way of knowing what it's called! Now about the end, who was Hannah's killer? I cannot fathom it. Did Slendy kill Hannah and Cameron just admit to doing it for his sanity? Was Slendy in the mind set to get her? Also, in the recorded documents Adam read, one of the Slendy victims says something about an old bunker he was going to explore before Slendy killed him, was that a bunker Adam went into? Was it the bunker? And the ending was very unresolved. How did Slendy get there? What did Adam do? Did Adam die? For me to fully say I read and completed a book, I need closure. I'm fine with some mystery surrounding the end, but that was to much mystery. I was looking forward to the essay at the end, all it did was show the author's other novels! And the essay part was adapted from a blog! I don't want t buy a book that uses ANY other author's work. That's cheap. You can reference and acknoledge, but not adapt it for your book for length! He could have made this better. I'm not an author, but I'm a reader and that's what makes him an author. He could add to this. Explain somethings, and rewrite somethings. This could easily have a sequel where maybe he has to run out to friend/family to escape Slendy and Slendy follows. He just needs to explain and spread it out a bit. Overall, he has a solid novel. Good suspence, a healthy amount of fear and adreniline. Just short-stacked a bit. Three and a half stars out of five stars. ~Amanda's Bookworm Buddy Review
