This a retelling of the story of sleeping beauty. An angry witch casts a spell on a young, baby princess to die when she pricks her finger. But another witch changes the spell so that she would sleep instead of dying. The princess and her whole castle was put to sleep for one hundred years when she finally pricked her finger one day. But a prince came along and broke the spell and the princess and the prince married the next day and lived happily ever after.

This story of sleeping beauty follows the general story line. the king and queen have a baby girl and invite all the fairies but forget the oldest one who they thought dead. The baby has a curse placed on her. the king has the spindles burnt but for one that an old lady uses the princess finds it and pricks her finger going into a deep sleep. she doesn't stir until her prince comes. A good book of good triumphing over evil.
