It Starts with a Murder . . . Will It End with a Coup?

Stephen Coonts, master of suspense, has captivated readers around the world by writing thrillers ripped from the nation’s headlines.

His newest, The Russia Account, pits CIA officer Tommy Carmellini against a murderous international financial conspiracy that leaves a trail of death and corruption, extending from a small bank in Estonia to the highest reaches of the Kremlin and the halls of Congress—perhaps even to the CIA itself, putting Admiral Jake Grafton, the head of the CIA, in the crosshairs of an assassin.

Burglar-turned-CIA-warrior Tommy Carmellini has starred in eight previous Coonts thrillers. With the help of his mentor, Admiral Grafton, Carmellini has always managed to foil his enemies. Discovering and defeating the powerful forces behind this massive bloodstained financial conspiracy that threatens the very foundations of the United States government, and maybe the life of the president of the United States, will be his most difficult challenge yet—and perhaps, he suspects, an impossible one.

By turns thrilling, shocking, and even prophetic, The Russia Account is Coonts in top form. It is a reading experience not to be missed.

Mr Coonts uses this platform to rant about his rage against the democrats. Poor ending to an otherwise good series. very disappointing

great parallel to what is really happening in our country and he is not too shy about his characters similarities to those living or dead

Coontz is a good writer. But, if he actually believes what he wrote in this book about American Democrats he is ill-informed and delusional. Even though this book is fiction, belief systems like his are what is damaging this country. It ruined the book.

I just finished The Russia Account by Stephen Coonts. This was my kind of spy/intrigue/thriller. Every time I thought I had the story figured out, the plot line morphed into something more suspenseful and unexpected. I’ve always been a fan of the slow story burn, that is, the slow escalation of suspense. I find myself reading faster and faster. With Stephen Coonts, it’s the ending that I like best. He is a master of the clutch last scene that I would not have thought of myself. Five stars for Stephen Coonts and The Russia Account. My kind of read. Jeff Bailey, author of The Defect and Not On My Watch.

For those who think the Deep State has a nefarious agenda, this book is for you. Prescient as well.
