Overview

Dr. Peter Hart is hearing voicesónot usually a good thing for a psychologist. His wife of twenty-five years has died, and the world is on the brink of nuclear Armageddon.

Islamic extremists have already destroyed the first of four targets with a nuclear bomb. Can Peter find peaceófor himself, and the worldóbefore even greater devastation?

Haunted by Einsteinís warning that ìThe unleashed power of the atom has changed everything save our modes of thinking, and we thus drift toward unparalleled catastrophes,î Peterís mission, inspired by the voices, becomes clear: to change these ìmodes of thinkingî with ten new commandments.

Spouting Biblical prophecy about the Antichrist, Pastor Vern stalks Peter from the Blue Mountains of Oregon to the thrilling conclusion in Jerusalem.Islamic extremist Enrique also shadows Peter, threatening to kill him and his daughter, Terra.CIA director Ted Sizemore must choose between his duty as an American and his faith as an evangelical Christian.

Although The New Commandments is fiction, the questions it raises are real. Can we change Einsteinís ìmodes of thinking,î or must we inexorably ìdrift toward unparalleled catastrophes?îThe New Commandments says that we can change how we think about and resolve our differencesóboth internationally and within ourselvesóand with page turning suspense, shows the way.
