From the New York Times bestselling author of the Wings of Fire series, Tui T. Sutherland, and her sister, Kari Sutherland, comes the Menagerie series, perfect for fans of Brandon Mull’s Fablehaven series and The Spiderwick Chronicles.

In the small town of Xanadu, Wyoming lies the Menagerie, a top secret facility filled with unicorns, dragons, phoenixes, and other fairy tale creatures. At least, it was a secret—until six griffin cubs escaped.

If Logan and Zoe don’t get the cubs back fast, the entire Menagerie will be shut down. The race is on and the resulting adventure is only the beginning of a thrilling series that will leave readers wanting a magical menagerie of their very own.

About the Author

Tui T. Sutherland & Kari Sutherland are sisters and best friends, and if you can’t tell by looking at them which one is older, Tui certainly isn’t going to tell you. They grew up in South America, traveling a lot and moving several times (and they’re still only about 80 percent certain that their parents weren’t secret agents). Kari now lives in California, while Tui lives in Boston, but they use every excuse they can to see each other (like, say, writing a book together).

These books (the menagerie series) are one of my favorite series besides The Lord of the Rings, Percy Jackson, The Corpus Trilogy, and The Heroes of Olympus series. ( BY THE WAY MY SISTER IS AN AUTHOR AND SHE WROTE THE CORPUS TRILOGY!! THEY ARE AWSOME BOOKS!!! YOU SHOULD READ THEM!) other than those, these books are by far my favorite. I love the mythological creatures and the suspense in these books. I love all the very accurate descriptions of the creatures. Thank You For Writing This Book! Long live Percy Jackson, Annabeth, the rest of the seven of the prophecy, Pia (even though you are immortal.), Frodo, Legolas, Aragorn, and Samwise Gamgey. Thank you to all those lovely characters who made my life full of AWESOME books. Oh! Almost forgot! Thank you Harry Potter. Love you all. Sincerely, Leslieann Khoury. ;)

Being an animal lover myself, I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Menagerie. Logan Wilde, the main character, wants a dog, a horse and for his mother to return. What he gets instead is a griffin cub, an almost fatal ride on a Kelpie, and an adventure involving mythical animals and new friends who are not quite what they appear to be at school.  Although I read The Menagerie in one go, I really didn't want the book to end. From the grudge-bearing unicorns to the self-pitying goose - the one that lays the golden eggs; and the neurotic phoenix who self-destructs every time he is upset, these were some of the best crafted animal characters I have ever encountered in any book.  Most adorable of all, though, are the treasure loving, escaped griffin cubs. As every cub has a slightly different definition of treasure, however, it makes the task of recapturing them a guessing game and treasure hunt for Zoe, Logan and Blue.  Animal-loving Logan is a very ordinary boy with a desire for adventure and real friends. Zoe Kahn, or worry-cub, as the griffins call her is just that; a person who takes her job very seriously and worries about the menagerie and her family all the time. With an impending inspection by the Supernatural Animal Protection Agency and someone trying to sabotage the menagerie, who can blame Zoe for being uptight. About the other key character, Blue Merevy, I'm not going to say much more than that the girls find him handsome and that he is unusual.  Although this book doesn't exactly end on a cliff-hanger, there are still several loose threads and unanswered questions at the end; something that makes me hope that we'll soon see a sequel to this wonderful novel.  For a heartwarming tale full of wonderful people and eccentric animals, I recommend it as a must-read. Although The Menagerie is a middle grade book, I think everybody who loves animals, adventure, and splendid characterization should read it. (Ellen Fritz)

This is an enchanting tale about five escaped griffen cubs, a boy who finds one under his bed, and the girl who lets him help find the rest. Poor Logan has no idea what he's signing up for. A cute story and all-around good read. For those who have family issues and need a hero who they can relate to, and those who just want a good fiction. The sequel comes out march 11, 2014 .

Best book, full of magic, mystery, myth, adventure, a tinge of funny horor, great humor, plenty of foreshadowing, and AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read over and over again too, every time you discover more events that foreshadow what will happen next. I'm not the kind of person that reads books over again and again, but i still love reading it over again and discovering new things that tell what happens next and dont belive that review that says five stars except for_ _ _(SPOILER ALERT ) because if you read it enough times, you can see all the events leading up to Pelly's death and stuff. Pelly face, : } :D Happy face : ) : ) : ) DiamondCricket to sister Tusinami( happpyfacesadfacemadface)Hal.Apr. and sister of wind, Lea.Dei

This book would be 5 stars but for the last couple of pages! The last page of this book should have been pg. 270. The authors decided to add pages to promote a second book, unfortunately adding a scene of violence and a death to an otherwise violence free/deathless book for kids. My little sister LOVED this book, but hated the end, so we ripped out the pages after 270 and this is her favorite book! We won't be reading the second one, and we don't acknowledge that the last turn of events happened. This was an awesome book filled with humor and adorable, mythical creatures that escaped from their protectors' care and had to be found before they were discovered by the general population! This book was fantastic and memorable EXCEPT for the last couple of pages that were suppose to excite us into a sequel and just turned us off of that. Why they couldn't just end the book, which is written for kids, on a happy note and not killed something is beyond me. That part was completely inappropriate. So if you want a great book for kids with an exciting story and cute characters than you should get this book and rip out the pages after 270 and they will be perfectly content with it and satisfied with the ending.

(I really need about three more apps for the quest and I wont write part nine until I have more so please advertise or make another profile for me. Thanks. Next will be in Harry Bostch series #1.) Rachel and I were in a dark attic with a lamp and a stool in the middle and there were a few signs of mice crawling around too. I heard foot steps and saw Anna coming up with Seth and Crystal at her heels. "We'll take Esmerelda," Anna said holding out her hand for me to grasp. I took it with a thankful smile and stood, brushing the dirt from my jeans. "Wait and Esmerelda," Rachel called looking horrified. "I think I know you." We all stared at her, confused. "I'm pretty sure I saw in one of my dreams," she continued. "Well, anyways see you later!" We turned and walked out the door.
