About the Author

I have been retired from advertising for a few years and have always wanted to write. so this is my first attempt. I have to admit, this story has laid dormant for quite some time before I found the courage to put it out there.

My inspiration was always Enid Blyton and the first book I read at age 5 was her Shadow the Sheepdog. This led on to The Magic Faraway Tree which fired my imagination and made me devour the rest of her books with enthusiasm. I have never forgotten these magical books and have tried to recreate some magic and fantasy in my story, combining it with a little bit of factual history for learning. Children can research about some of my characters, places and events on line as an added interest to the story. It is a mixture of fact and fiction which I hope will hold the interest of children and inspire them to read more.
