Most Helpful Customer Reviews
Superman has never been my favorite superhero always too goody, goody but I loved The Man of Steel. Bendis's Superman is laced with humor and mystery and apparently can channel Batman as needed. When the destroyer of Krypton arrives on Earth to decimate the last pieces of Krypton, Cara and Kal-El team up and get their butt's handed to them. Rogol Zaar hated Kryptonians so much he destroyed their planet and is willing to go to the ends of the world to annihilate the last of the race. Lois Lane and John are gone and touring the galaxy with Jor-El as Clark's attention is torn between the maniac trying to end him and worry for his wife and child. With guest appearances by members of the Justice League, the story moves quickly, often relying on the art to tell the story, for an action packed thrill. The art pleases and the color draws the eye for a story worthy to be reread. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.
