Everyone has plans … until something—or someone—comes along to change them.
At the age of thirty-five, Randall Roderick, Marquess of Reading, decides it's time to trade in his life as the ‘Rake of Reading' for the life of a married man. Trouble is, his reputation precedes him, and he's not particularly attracted to the milk water misses who make up the eligible ladies of the ton.
His counterpart, Charles Goodwin, Earl of Wakefield, is only twenty-five and enjoys his life as a rake far too much to consider marriage. A visiting prostitute may change his mind on the matter, though, if only because he wants to do the right thing.
When the Earl of Norwick's skittish cousin, Constance, meets Randall in the park, she's intrigued by the gentleman she thinks is merely a well-to-do cit with a fascination for horse racing, but she's only in London to find out what's become of her inheritance. She's determined to return to her home and horses in Sussex to live the life of an independent woman.
Her counterpart, Eleanor Merriweather, is in London for her come-out with a dream to marry her perfect knight, but having been duped by a brothel's madame upon her arrival, she suddenly finds herself completely and thoroughly ruined.
When the lives of these four are suddenly upended by their chance meetings, the events of two nights and two days will prove that it takes a bit of horse sense to get on the right track in The Love of a Rake.

I really do love every Linda Rae Sande book I read. Couldn't put it down.
I don't usually do reviews but I just couldn't put this one down!
I found myself staying up way past my normal bedtime (much to Baby my cats distress)--I really could not stop reading--I just had to know how all would turn out. Would the two women ultimately forget their wish to stay single-for two very different reasons. Will the two RAKES be able to convince them that they will be faithful for the rest of their lives? The entire novel takes place in two days and two nights--and a whole lot goes on in that short period of time. Historical Romance readers will love this book as I did!!
The Love of a Rake by Linda Rae Sande Reviewed for Candid Book Reviews What I like about Ms. Sande is that she has a style that is unlike anyone else. Her stories are full of sensual delights but also have characters with intriguing stories to tell. The Love of a Rake is an intertwining story. Randall, Charles, Constance and Eleanor each have a story to tell but are connected in the quest for love and a chance at happiness. Randall has reached a point in his life where he knows he has to make a change and get responsible. Constance is a force all her own. She is independent with a quick mind and a love of animals. Eleanor is the opposite of Constance. She's an innocent dreamer that finds herself in a sticky situation. Her life is changed forever after trusting the wrong people. Is her happy ending lost forever? I received a copy of The Love of a Rake by Linda Rae Sande in exchange for an honest review. The character that touched my heart the most was Eleanor. She made some questionable choices but her pureness of heart stayed intact regardless of the heartache and despair thrown in her path.
