I wanted to give a little bit of backstory on why I'm reviewing a specific type of diet cookbook before I dive into my review. As some of you already know, I changed my way of eating a year ago and so far I've lost 106 pounds without working out. I started a keto diet, which is eating very low carb and I finally found something that worked well for me. I've always been a heavy girl and I've been on so many different diets over the years but was never able to stay on track for long enough to lose the amount I needed to. That changed when I found a diet that I found sustainable, that left me feeling full longer and the meals didn't feel like a diet at all. I'm able to eat meats, full-fat products, cheese, green veggies, etc. The main things you strictly have to stay away from are bread/pasta/rice and sugar. I know some of you have expressed interest in my way of eating and this book is perfect if you're planning on starting the diet. The Keto Diet cookbook is an all in one guide to learning about the keto diet. The first half of the book is actually all about the diet itself. It includes why this diet works for so many people, any issues that might arise and how to solve them. I wish I had this resource when I was first starting out, it covers all the basics then throws in meal plans and recipes. The last half of the book is full of recipes ranging from breakfast, entrees, desserts and side items like tortillas or biscuits. I tried out one of each section and plan on utilizing quite a few of the recipes in the future and will more than likely post about them on Instagram. Each recipe goes into depth on the nutritional information per serving and then goes a step further to tell you if it's nut free, vegetarian, and several other options. I found that very helpful, especially if you have food allergies like myself, or are trying to avoid something. Each recipe also includes a full sized picture which I'm always a fan of in cookbooks since I'm more of a visual person. All in all, if you're wanting to start the keto diet or if you're looking for more recipes to try while on this diet this is the perfect book for you.

Leanne's book is quite simply AMAZING. From keto newbie to seasoned fat burning vet, this book is by far the most user friendly, comprehensive guide I've ever seen. Not only is it filled with delicious real food recipes (flax muffins and stuffed pork roast are amazing btw), it also contains a full guide to how to customize a keto style of eating for every body type and individual need (adrenal fatigue, athletes ect). Just like snowflakes, no two are alike and this is a really important consideration when thinking about going low carb. I'm happy to use this book in my personal and professional life and will be recommending this excellent guide to my clients.

This book is so fantastic for not only a keto beginner but a seasoned veteran as well; it's jam packed with so much great information and even though I have been keto for a long time I learned a lot of great stuff. I love that this book is both a how to guide and a cookbook, it's really everything you need in one amazing resource. The mouth watering recipes are easy to follow and don't use a lot of crazy ingredients and the reference section & quick recipe lookup are a dream for this busy mum!! This book does NOT disappoint!

I know that the "keto diet" is super trendy right now, so there are a ton of people searching for keto this & keto that...stop the search people, this is the book you need!!!! Now, let's be for real, the keto way of eating is NOT for everyone. But I'll tell you this, if you're determined and committed to improving your health, this way of eating is for you! I came across the author's YouTube page a long time ago when I was "keto lurking", you know, gathering different opinions, gathering info, making sure I wasn't joining a cult, etc. I LOVED her video's because she is super down to earth and not only that, but the recommendations she makes about products and recipe's hit the nail on the head every time! So once I actually hopped off the lurk train and started keto, I realized something quickly, you may have to tweak it to fit you. So I joined a bunch of online groups that preached their way of keto was they only way, blah, blah. Leanne wasn't saying that, she was giving room and offering different profiles that would fit someone doing keto. I knew then that she was the real deal. The book? It's gorgeous! If you love graphs, pictures & diagrams, well this is for you. I'm personally a visual learner so getting through this book was a breeze because of the intermittent graphics. It is full with a plethora of information that really aids your journey. The recipes! Oh man, the recipes are mouth watering. This book is probably the best guide for keto eating because it allows you to figure out what profile fits you best and follow it. I can't say enough great things about it. My mom and sister just started their keto journey and I'm not sharing my book, I made them order their Not being mean, but it's just too resourceful to share, I need my own! Get this book and keto on!

Finally got my book! I just want to give a shout out to Leanne Vogel for the excellent job she did in writing this book! (The Keto Diet) As an author of a very small e-book (on casein-free diets for autism) myself, I can appreciate your effort - writing this book was no small undertaking! You did a great job breaking down a complicated subject matter and making it an interesting read. I also love all the visuals that were added. It's a great layout too. MUCH more than a cookbook! I was expecting a book of recipes and would have been totally happy with that, because I thoroughly enjoy Leanne's website and her Keto Bundle. Well, all I can say! When Leanne states "complete" on the cover of her book, she means it! If you're looking to explore healthy, whole foods eating; are already there and want to expand your knowledge; curious about keto or are a seasoned vet; or tired of riding the Food/Calorie Restriction Train, it doesn't get anymore comprehensive than this. I physically can't do full-on keto, but the beauty of it don't have to, and will still be able to come away with a better understanding of what works for you as an individual. Plus, many of the recipes are easily adaptable to suit your tastes/style of eating. An easy to read, enjoyable guide - thank you, Leanne!

If you are new to the Ketogenic Diet there is no need to buy multiple books, this one has it all! The Keto Diet is packed with facts about this high-fat diet and how to customize it to fit your needs. Leanne Vogel is big on empowering you, the individual, with information and encourages you to take back the health of your body by giving it the nutrient dense foods it needs to function properly. Leanne provides personal and professional advice from her own journey to help you successfully adjust to the Keto lifestyle and overcome any obstacles. The book is full of tips and tricks for storing and prepping ingredients as well as photos and nutritional information for each recipe. She also gives you options for changing out ingredients on most recipes if you are dealing with food intolerances or combining with other diets like AIP or FODMAPS. As a Canadian Bookseller I am dealing with daily inquiries for Ketogenic Diet books, The Keto Diet by Leanne Vogel is my go-to recommendation. Leanne really outdid herself and everyone else with this book. I pre-ordered the book looking for recipes and was astounded with the level of content included! I have been on a keto diet since mid-Dec 2016, keto-adapted since late January and I feel great. I'm down nearly 20 pounds and rarely hungry. I found Leanne through her podcast, then connected with her website, too. This book is jam-packed with everything you would ever want to know about keto, and then some. I love Leanne's approach to keto; it's all about personalization. The approach is very person-centered, not dogmatic at all. Her advice is 'keto for the long haul' with 'keto-three ways' to provide some guidance. I learned through this book something new, a little scary but I am now beginning to experiment a bit with carb-ups. I check my blood for ketos about once a week, just to double check where I am at, but as Leanne explains over time you will get to know your body and will know by how you feel if you are still in ketosis or not. Finally, kudos to the designers responsible for the very helpful graphics! If you are interested in keto, buy THIS book; nothing compares.

I've read a lot - and I mean A LOT - of books on the keto diet and this is the first one that laid it all out, in one book! Leanne talks about all the various types of approaches and variations of keto, the pros and cons, who is best suited to each approach and then gives you a 28 day meal plan for EACH of the approaches - WOW! She makes it so easy for someone who is busy and doesn't necessarily have all the time to be measuring and counting and she takes the guess work out of it. To top it all off, this is the healthy version of the keto diet - organic, not processed, just pure goodness. Thanks for being so open Leanne, many women, including me, can relate to your struggles and by laying it all out there, you've help so many women understand that there is a better way. Great read, great investment!

Absolutely worth getting, even if you've already read "all of the keto things"! I'm already educated on keto and have read LOTS of keto books over time. This book offers something new and I can't say enough good things about it. I devoured it in one sitting and finished feeling highly motivated and really excited to get back on the keto train. You know how some authors say "This is the way to do keto... any other way is wrong" and they don't have a lot of room (or care to put in the time and effort) for all of the "but wait, it's different for me... my body isn't doing what you said it would and now I don't know what to do"??? Well, Leanne puts in that time and effort and talks about different ways to incorporate keto into your life based on where you are right now. And THEN she tells you where you can go next, based on how your body responds. Not to mention all of the resources, and thought and care put into making sure everything you need within the book is easy to find. (My favorite part is the index with the PHOTOS of the recipes included there so you remember what the heck it is!) It's very clear that so much care was put into this book and it shows. In short, I absolutely love this book and have been telling anyone who will listen about it.

Leanne has the most balanced, accessible approach to Keto (and, actually, to loving and fueling your body) that I have encountered. This is such a beautiful and informative book! I have Leanne's previous book "Fat Fueled" and was really excited to get this one. The photos are fantastic, and the recipes look awesome! I can't wait to try some of them! I also really like how she explains the different ways you can fit keto into your life based on your individual body. I've been doing standard keto for almost 4 months, but I think I will give myself a bit of a refresher and start new with Leanne's suggestions from this book. Thank you Leanne! If you are new to the keto woe, or even if you have been following it for a while, this book is a great addition to your bookshelf!

Leanne's guide to the Keto Diet is a game changer. The Keto Diet is jam packed with very useful tips and tricks for following the Ketogenic lifestyle. You can tell that Leanne is passionate about the subject and has put a lot of heart and research into this book. After reading this book my wife and I were anxious to get started on the Keto path. stop the insanity and look at the science. The ketogenic diet is a short term solution to a long term problem. If our brains were meant to be metabolizing ketones, our brains would be metabolizing ketones. Don't do this to your bodies. Talk to scientists who understand metabolism and chronic disease. This is a horrible solution.
