Cookbooks these days are more than a collection of recipes, and that does add pleasure to this cookbook. However, the recipes don't fully shine the Irish pub experience. One of the lamb stews is awful.........bland, not enough liquid, too much barley, no herbs/spices. Total waste of the money spent on the lamb. The photo didn't look like the end product (the photo looked terrific, but the stew looked like beige mush, like oatmeal). Sadly, I could not serve the stew for St. Patrick's Day, I had to start from scratch all over again with a different recipe (not from this cookbook).
