This is a lovely rom-com; good characters, nice story and several fabulous locations! Hannah has been in a state of denial ever since her husband of ten years announced he was leaving. Attempting to pull herself together six weeks on, Hannah discovers that her business has all but folded and life in a small village is too insular. She needs to get away and with her beauty skills, a job on a cruise ship would solve a lot of her problems. In her thirties, Hannah has always had her parents, her sister, her husband to lean on - can she really find the courage to do something just for her? This is a tale of self-discovery .. and more. For anyone with wanderlust, this book will have you straight online to book tickets to find another life. The locations are absolutely fabulous, and the author makes the very best of each of them. Hannah is making memories on her travels - but will that be enough? Can she return home after this freedom or will she commit to another contract? This really is a truly lovely read; bit by bit, we get to know Hannah better and although work fills a lot of her time, she does manage to make friends among the other crew members and there's even a hint of romance. Whether she can ever trust again is a whole other story. An enjoyable read, and it certainly sells a life on board. One to enjoy whilst lying soaking up the sun by the pool! My only criticism is a few errors - words missing or repeated, but I wouldn't penalise the author for these as it's hardly her fault. My thanks to HQ Digital for my copy via NetGalley, and to Rachel's Random Resources for including me in this Book Birthday Blitz. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.

Now I have never been on a cruise even though my best friend is always telling me how wonderful they are but after reading The Holiday Cruise I may well be tempted. Coping with a cheating hubby and losing her job leaves Hannah bereft until she spots a vacancy aboard ship to work in the spa. This is a lovely read, watching how Hannah deals with the work, the cruise routine, the friendships and a love interest that is maybe not as simple as she would like. The dreaded seasickness would floor me! If you want to travel and enjoy the scenery without leaving your armchair then you will love this. I could picture the destinations, feel the camaraderie of the staff, sympathise with all the work that is needed to run a ship. As a bystander it seems idyllic, whether it actually portrays reality at sea I don’t know but as a work of fiction I really felt a part of it. I found myself encouraging Hannah to gain confidence and grab whatever happiness she could. While the cover shouts ‘summer’ this is a book that can be read at any time of year as it enables the reader to escape. Thanks to the author and publisher for my copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Hannah Davis has lost her beauty salon that she has run for 10 years. Her heart has been broken by her husband, Daniel, when he left her for another woman, and she has allowed herself to crash. Now, she has lost her business, employees, and clients. Daniel has left her the house plus all the payments. After picking herself up and realizing her dilemma, she decides to apply to work in the spa of a cruise ship and she gets accepted. Putting her house up for rent, she packs up and heads out. Hannah immediately likes her new job and meets some fun co-workers. The ports of call are gorgeous and even though her free time is limited, she manages to see a lot of the Caribbean Islands followed by the Mediterranean. One day she is called to do a massage for a man named Ben. It is supposed to be a honeymoon couples massages. However, Ben’s fiancé called off the wedding at the last minute. Ben’s friends encouraged him to take the three week cruise anyway since it was paid for and he had vacation time allotted for it. Cruise employees and guests being together is strictly prohibited, but Hannah and Ben do become friends. They find time to meet up on shore when Hannah gets time off knowing they have to be discrete. Is there a way for them to continue with their relationship? The story is full of descriptions of the beautiful stops that the ship makes, the fun times the ship’s crew has and the friendships they make all come together for a delightful book. As I have been lucky enough to take some cruises, this book was truly exciting to read and one that I would highly recommend. Enjoy!
