For fans of John Connolly, Nevada Barr, and dogs of all shape and size, the first novel in the new Flint K-9 Search and Rescue Mysteries, from the author of the bestselling Erin Solomon Mysteries!

When teenage sisters go missing in the mysterious "Bennington Triangle" of Vermont, an area renowned for its disappearances and strange occurrences over the past hundred years, FBI agent Jack Juarez brings K-9 handler Jamie Flint and her dog Phantom in to assist with the search. When Jack realizes the case shares haunting similarities with the murders of the missing girls' aunts ten years before, it becomes clear that he and Jamie are dealing with much more than two girls who simply wandered off the beaten path.

About the Author

Jen Blood is the USA Today-bestselling author of two critically acclaimed, action-packed mystery series: The Erin Solomon Mysteries and the Flint K-9 Search and Rescue Mysteries. Both series feature strong, independent women who dominate in their chosen fields (Erin Solomon as an investigative reporter intent on learning the truth about her own past; Jamie Flint as a single mom, small business owner, and K-9 search and rescue trainer and handler).

In addition to her career as an author, Jen is also a freelance writer and certified dog trainer. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing/Popular Fiction from the University of Southern Maine, is a regular blogger with Maine Crime Writers, and leads workshops throughout New England on writing, editing, and independent publishing. Jen taps into a background in freelance journalism in the heart of Midcoast Maine to write mysteries rich with atmosphere and action, with great characters, a hint of romance, and plots that will keep you guessing until the last page is turned. No hot sheets here but good mystery. This story has a lot going on: multiple murders, paranormal sensitive dog and Mom and son, wrongly imprisoned FBI agent, secrets about past sexual scandal, kidnappings plural. I liked it and will definitely read more of this author.

I hadn't read this author before, but I was pleasantly surprised. Lots of great twists and turns, great characters, touch of paranormal and romance. Looking forward to the whole series -about rescue dogs trained for search and rescue.

Canine Search-And-Rescue (SAR) units find bodies, ghosts, and a serial killer in a haunted wood, thanks to persistent neo-feminists risking their lives and careers against male liars and evildoers. And that’s more description than this book deserves. Poorly edited, repetitive, far too much poorly-inserted back-story, and apart from two fully-developed characters (the narrator's son, Bear, being far better qualified than the narrator herself), a smattering of cardboard cutouts designed to be a collection of antagonistic traits rather than real characters. This format only allows 3500 characters. For a more in-depth analysis, please visit Black Wolf's Imaginarium. If the URL is not permitted, I understand BN's wish not to leave that door open and will respect it.

Good book. Sometimes confusing but able to get back on track. Names unusual for some characters that kept me looking back to see who was whom.

Strange story but a good read. Wish there had been some romance and more back story. I did have a problem with how the control of the press was handled by law enforcement. The author's description of the Texas prison is beyond incorrect. I retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (corrections) and there is no way a guard would be on a first name basis, much less show family pictures to an inmate! He would be fired in a heartbeat. It's also a dangerous thing to do.

The lives of k9 handlers are at risk while trying to rescue missing girl's. The evil abductor is far more than simply bad. Twists and surprises.

A different sort of murder mystery involving SAR teams, which I find fascinating, and a possible hint at romance
