When Dr. Karen Fuller signs up for a humanitarian mission that takes her deep into the jungles of Africa, she has no way of knowing the fears she'd been running from for the past six months, will pale in comparison to the utter terror, she is about to encounter.
Karen and the five doctors she will be sharing her life with for the next eighteen months find themselves in a fight, not just for their lives, but for the very souls of all humankind.
The evil that lies hidden within the mist haunts their tortured souls, threatening to expose their darkest secrets. The kind of secrets, one buries so deep within themselves, it eats away at their spirit and leaves them feeling empty inside. Their survival depends on their willingness to reach deep within their tattered souls and find the courage to trust once more in a God that each has not been on speaking terms for a very long time. They must come to terms with the knowledge that the tragedies in their past which lead them to this Godforsaken place had a purpose in the larger skein of things. They must find a way to look beyond the science, believe in the unknown, and trust in the knowledge that In doing so they will discover love, trust, blind faith, and forgiveness are not just the answer to their salvation, but for the salvation of all humankind.
The chosen is a dark look at what happens when men allow their souls to be taken over by the dark forces of this world, those forces that lie just below the Earth's surface.

About the Author

I am the owner and director of Straight Up and On Pointe Performing Arts Company, a social issue based theater company for teens about teens. Before opening my own company I co-directed The Urban Theater Project, we worked with the juvenile court's system to help teens deal with their issues through the performing arts.
I am a new writer and have had the honor of one of my essay published in a coffee table book titled The Power of Believe. I co-wrote The Writing on the Wall, a short film for the 48-hour film festival. The Chosen is my first novel, my labor of love. The inspiration for the book was founded in the rich history of my upbringing.
As a child, I had the unique privilege of a front row seat to many great stories. Stories based on strong supernatural believe, passed down from those who grew up in its mist. I would love the opportunity to share with others the treasures of my youth.
