About the Author

J. Allen Hill lives in rural Virginia, inspired by the area's rich history, easy access to its extensive collections of historic papers, and the rich cultural, artistic and political resources of our Nation's Capitol. Having written for many years to keep body and soul together, retirement from business provides the time to write for pleasure, a love of American history, theater and the English language.

The Cause, The Odyssey of Daniel Grant, is Hill's second novel.

Hill's first novel, The Secret Diary of Ewan Macrae, published in 2013, is a saga of early American settlement and its people both native and immigrant.
