Reviewed Nov 2004 The second Perry Mason I¿ve read also very interesting, lots of turns and an overall good read. A CEO of an oil company is involved in a proxy battle for his company. He is trapped at a hotel thinking he would receive information needed to win his battle when in fact a young woman is found murdered. The full team is involved in the investigation and Perry ¿the Superman¿ as usual needs very little sleep and is kept going by smokes and coffee. This story is a bit different as Della gives Perry a kiss on the mouth, he thanks her and then drives off. Nothing more is even said. Followers of the Perry Mason series must have been very frustrated at their relationship, how can they have such strong feelings for each other and not have a sexual relationship? Della devotes her life to Perry and he repays her devotion with a paycheck. Maybe in the long run it is cheaper to keep this arrangement? 19-2004
