About the Author
My name is Pastry chef Carl Thomas, and I taught myself how to bake. I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. I am the fourth child out of five children. I chose to write a cook book just for children of any age to teach a person how to bake. I took classes at Michael's craft store. The first course I took was the discover cake decorating. Also, the second class I took classes was the Wilton Method of Cake Decorating Flowers and Borders. The third course I took was Fondant and Tiered Cakes. The fourth class I took was the Fondant and Gum Paste. It took me four months to complete the courses. When a child is baking, make sure the parents are around to help and assist.
