The Best of Louis Armstrong: When the Saints Go Marching In

The Best of Louis Armstrong: When the Saints Go Marching In

by Louis Armstrong

While the title is mere hyperbole, this is a nice collection of live and studio renditions of Satchmo's best known tunes. While these aren't the "hit" or definitive versions, they are grade-A performances of classics like "Mack the Knife," "Blueberry Hill," "St.Louis Blues," "When It's Sleepy Time Down South," and the title track. Armstrong seldom gave a bad live performance, so these live shots are nice additions to the pile.
