This was a lovely compilation of stories and recipes from the Lotus Bay series. Each section started off with a story that if you haven't read the series will definitely give you a look into the characters and who they are. If you have read the series you get a better look at the characters and how they have grown throughout the series. The recipes will have you wanting to head to the kitchen and whip something up. From breakfast dishes, muffins, salads, cookies to teas; these are just a few of the categories you'll find in this great new book. I love picking up a new cookbook and trying a few recipes to get a feel for what the author likes. I picked a few recipes that I wanted to try and that were new to me and they turned out quite well. The Apple Bundt Cake was moist and I loved the apple flavor. Lemon is a favored flavor so I gave the Lemon Curd a go, it was tangy just the way I like it. It is also quite versatile and can be used for many different things like a sauce or a filling. The recipes were easy to follow and I had no problem with the instructions which is always a plus in a cookbook. I look forward to trying out more recipes.

This is an amazing collection of over 140 need-to-try recipes, right from Kathy Grant, owner of the Swans Nest Inn on beautiful Lotus Bay! From appetizers to desserts and everything in between, this book has something for everyone.

For readers of this author’s Lotus Bay Mysteries, and more importantly for any reader looking for a collection of delectable recipes, this book is for you. It contains a listing of recipes that are relatively easy to prepare (some even have shortcuts with package mixes and microwave steps) and are extremely tasty, ranging from appetizers to desserts (think cookies, quick breads, muffins and even scones) to entrees to beverages, etc. The basic premise is a cookbook of foods presented at a bed and breakfast for guests and special events. But these recipes will soon find themselves into your everyday family use. Disclosure: I am voluntarily reviewing this book and all opinions are strictly my own.
