Detective Lindsay Boxer's investigation into the disappearance of three teachers quickly escalates from missing persons to murder in the newest Women's Murder Club thriller.

For a trio of colleagues, an innocent night out after class ends in a deadly torture session. They vanish without a clue — until a body turns up. With the safety of San Francisco's entire school system at stake, Lindsay has never been under more pressure. As the chief of police and the press clamor for an arrest in the "school night" case, Lindsay turns to her best friend, investigative journalist Cindy Thomas. Together, Lindsay and Cindy take a new approach to the case, and unexpected facts about the victims leave them stunned.

While Lindsay is engrossed in her investigation, her husband, Joe Molinari, meets an Eastern European woman who claims to have seen a notorious war criminal — long presumed dead — from her home country. Before Lindsay can verify the woman's statement, Joe's mystery informant joins the ranks of the missing women. Lindsay, Joe, and the entire Women's Murder Club must pull together to protect their city, and one another — not from a ghost, but from a true monster.

Where was the women’s murder club? It seems like this book was written by authors who never laid eyes on the other books. Barely any of the others were included in this books. This is one of the worst.

Another chapter for the Women’s Murder Club although they didn’t have many parts in this one...can’t wait for the next book in October! I only wish that they came out every few months instead of every year...

I enjoyed it for the most part. The graphic descriptions in some places were hard to get through, but I liked Lindsey and Joe working together, and that Warren had a bigger role than he's had for a long time. He and Lindsey are my favorite characters, and I wish he'd be utilized more. I honestly stopped liking Conklin a long time ago. I do echo previous reviewers' thoughts in Julie. Where was she? There were even a few moments of Lindsey and Joe at home together but absolutely no mention of their daughter. I'm wondering if Mr. Patterson forgot they had one. Or maybe because this is such a graphic novel, especially in comparison to previous entries in the series, he just didn't want to mention her. If that is the case, I'm glad he left her out. But even Martha was mentioned a dozen times or so.

The worst! Do Lindsay and Joe still have a child? No mention of her. Also, it seems obvious to me that these books are written several years in advance, because it mentioned GWB as the President. It appears these books are thrown together quickly with no effort. This will be my last one. So disappointed.

It was an ok read! It really isn't very clear that it's a flashback! And you you do wonder what happened to some of the characters.

We all need to be reminded that we lucky Americans do not live in a vacuum and the horrible things that happen in other countries can reach us. We can never let our guard down. Thank God that there really are people like these police officers and federal agents who look death in the face so that we dont have to. And pray that we remain a country where justice can be taken for granted.

I loved this book! It had so much suspence and twists. However, I would not suggest it for readers under the age of 13 because of some scenes in the book. Other than that it was excellent! This is definitley a MUST read for people who love mystery novels.

This is the worst Women's Murder Club I ever read. The first two chapters read like they were written by a high schooler. Then there was Lindsey's remembering her first case. This ran on for several chapters and had nothing to do with the main story. Was this just to up the word count to bring it up to over 300 pages? A complete disappointment. And how did 18 abductions in the title mean anything? There only four.

This book was the worst. Totally disregarded all the character progressions of the other 17. Plot was thin at best. Total waste of time
