How how I love this book. The 131 Method has changed my life. I have been following the 131 Method way of eating for over a year and have lost 50 lbs (with the online program). But more importantly, I have gained so much energy, confidence, and knowledge about what works for my body and what doesn't. That's the best thing about this way of eating. You study yourself! You find out which foods give you energy and which cause you inflammation. It isn't about a list of good or bad foods. Even though I started with the online program, I'm loving the hard copy book. I love being able to bookmark all my favorite nuggets as a quick reference. And of course it's written in Chalene's fun and witty personal style. And holy cow - the book has 100 recipes included!

Any diet that includes wine is a diet for me! Only this isnt a diet! Its a navigation through foods and a discovery of one's self. Connect with your body and mind, and start a journey to a better you. The 131 Method has done exactly as it claims on the cover for me. 13.4 lbs down in 47 days, a better relationship with food, and coincidently, higher sex drive (not kidding)! I cant express how this metabolic flexing and diet phasing will change your mind about foods.

It's right there In the title it's a method not a diet . Absolutely love this book . It's never easy talking about your personal experiences with how a person feels about their body . This book is a 5 star for me. Its life changing . It made me healthy from the inside which changed how I see myself from the outside . It taught me what to eat and when and all about phasing how we eat . It gave me a new perspective on life for myself and my family . It taught me how to read nutrition labels correctly. There is so much knowledge in this book and I'm sure even more to come . I just want to say thank you to Chalene Johnson and everyone with the 131 for changing my life . You are all heroes in my book . I'm hoping for further books in the future . God Bless

She's done it AGAIN!!! I loved my advanced copy of the 131 Method BECAUSE I love when a fellow fitness/nutrition leader makes a firm stand on calling out "industry" when said industry is causing more harm than good. Now, what do I mean by that? I simply mean that for the past 8 years, after saving my own life due to "Leaky Gut", (which wasn't a mainstream term back in 2011) I've been helping the masses understand ALL of the ailments, unexplained weight gain, stubborn weight loss, gastric issues, thyroid problems, unexplained skin conditions, lethargy, MS, Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, etc. etc. etc., begin in the GUT. THAT must be healed first and THEN, and only THEN will you see progress and many times reversal of ailments. Chalene, in her normal Chalene fashion of taking hard things and making them simple to implement, has created a METHOD to cut to the chase and feel better within DAYS. Every household needs this book!! You'll love it.

Disclaimer: if you want the same results you’ve always received by doing the same thing you’ve always done then this book isn’t for you. Chalene Johnson should receive a freaking award for this book! The amount of research, breakdown, and guidance she provides is just more than anything else I’ve read. Her research isn’t one sided either because her focus was to get down to the truth not the result people wanted to hear. Cons (if you even wanna call them that): 1. It takes a positive mindset to change your habits 2. This is not a diet! This is how I live my life now and yes, totally a struggle at first, but I got it. It finally clicked when I realized I don’t need someone to tell me when/what to eat all the time. I just designed it on my own and went with my gut....literally. Pros: 1. Easy to follow recipes (even for this girl that use to burn everything!) see photos 2. You CANT mess this up! It’s a learning experience and the subject is your body! Go through it and find out what’s best for you 3. There is a whole online program you can join with support, additional recipes and a TON of resources for you to do your research 4. ALL the research is backed up by credible resources and facts. Best of all if you do this you will see and feel a difference 5. It’s not a diet. People who don’t take the time to read and understand what the 131 is will argue with me on this until their face turns blue. 6. It has CHANGED MY LIFE! Between this book and Chalene’s podcast The Chalene Show, I have learned so much that I plan on passing down for generations to come. Thank you Chalene and the team of magical people who put this together. It really is revolutionary on the industry. Pro Tip: save yourself the agony (unlike me my first go around) Do your research, read, and JUST TRUST THE PROCESS. It’s science. It will work.

I've been part of the 131 Method program for a while now. And I continue to stop/start, despite seeing an amazing success every time I start. I know it's a mindset thing. I was excited to pre-order the book when it came out because I wanted to see how it differed from the online program. Let me tell you...I received an advance copy and...THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! If you're new to The 131, you can read the book and set yourself up for success, no question. If you're like me, and you've started and stopped the online program a couple (or a few) times, this is going to supplement what you've already learned and give you the knowledge, the inspiration, the motivation to do right by your body. It's like Chalene is talking to me directly. Addressing my concerns of what my kids are learning from me, addressing how even the most well meaning family and friends may not understand that it's not "just another diet"... that I'm fixing my body, my mind, and my soul, with this program. I'm stubborn, I won't deny it. I've done other programs that I've had immense success with. Some have covered mindset, some haven't. Some I had great results for years and some results lasted only weeks or months. I love that the book covers food science and the emotional aspect behind why we do what we do with food. Why we crave certain foods, why we eat for no reason, why we go against what we know is healthy for us. If you're on the fence with this book, I'm telling you, you need to get it. It'll be the last book you will ever need to get your health on track. You want to be around for your family, your friends, your dog, cat, whoever. And you are totally worth the success you'll see when you put the knowledge to use!

If you are looking to stop "dieting" and start living your life purchase this book and jump into the 131! The 131 Method is not a diet, it's the study of ONE. And that ONE is YOU! 131 is all about phasing your food and what nutrients you are fueling your body with. The 131 Method is backed by science but don't fret as this book is not nerdy and full of words you need to look up in a dictionary. My favorite part about reading this book is that Chalene wrote it herself in her own words. It's real and authentic. If you are looking for an easy way to become healthy you won't find that anywhere. Great Book!!! Learning what is best for your Body! I have been waiting for months for this book and it didn't disappoint! So informative and broken down in a way that is easy to understand and follow. Chalene and her team did a great job providing the science to back up the information in this book but on a level that anyone can understand. So many "AWW-HA" moments when reading this book!! Recipes are amazing. Thanks Team Johnson!

Not sure what to even say about this book - except please order it - Chalene never disappoints and this book is just one more example of that. I received an advanced digital copy and was never so happy to have been given this privilege. Chalene's journey and her ultimate answer to creating a personalized diet that each and every one of us can tweak for our own bodies is the first and only solution you need in your struggle with diet and health. Not only does she lay out a road map for your journey through her diet phases, but she reviews all the current research and how to explore more in-depth into any topics that may be affecting you personally in your quest for optimal health. Oh my gosh! You guys I can't even begin to tell you how this method CHANGED my life! It changed the way I look at the word diet and how I FUEL my body! It's time to change the way we look at food as can't have or can have! It's time to start thinking in terms of is this for me?! Or how does this food make me FEEL?! I lost over 20 lbs with eating this way and I have kept it off for 2 years! Without worry or struggling or gaining it back! Get the book! Read it and give it a chance!!
