Inspired by the author's experiences in the Northern England of the 1940s to 1960s, "Thank You, Hazel Platt" is an often sad story illuminated by humor and heart. Full of pathos and pain, it also abounds with laughter and love as the hero, Harry Nathan, comes to terms with religious bigotry from both sides and finally learns to accept his place in the world. This powerful story will have readers booing and cheering at the antics of its flawed but unforgettable characters.
