One of the things that charmed me the most about this book was Tara's sense of adventure even though she's a little unsure. She has a great sense of humor. Her inner monologue was quite funny. That's what kept me turning the page. Clever girl. She's very likable too and there's some great wisdom in her words as she learns to tackle the things that make her sad or frightened. I can't imagine a young reader who likes fantasy stories not liking this book. The world the author created for Tara to live in is exciting yet not too complex. The characters that populate the world like Minerva and Bunny the Cat all make Tara's life a little more magical and ultimately help her in way she can't even imagine. Well done.
