"If you want hot, sexy, dangerous romance. . .this series is for you." –Paranormal Haven

Caleb Donovan was never meant to be a prophet. At heart he's a conqueror, his appetites far more carnal than spiritual. He's not inclined to repress his passions and surrender to fate. After all, that's what cost him Lily—three centuries ago. She married another, because it was ordained. Now that he's in the same benighted calling—and forced into proximity with her—all the old desires are roaring back to life. . .

After widowhood and centuries of celibacy, Lily is eager to explore the wild side of life, except now she's vulnerable to another forced relationship, with an enemy. But this time she's determined to choose her own path. And if hot, furious Caleb comes charging to the rescue, it might just change both their destinies. . .

Love is about to start conquering. . .

About the Author

New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti has worked as an art curator, Senate aide, lawyer, college professor, and a hearing examiner—only to culminate it all in stories about Alpha males and the women who claim them. She is a member of RWA, has won awards for her works throughout the industry, and has a journalism degree with a poly sci emphasis from Pepperdine University as well as a Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho.

Growing up amid the glorious backdrops and winter wonderlands of the Pacific Northwest has given Rebecca fantastic scenery and adventures to weave into her stories. She resides in the wild north with her husband, children, and extended family who inspire her every day—or at the very least give her plenty of characters to write about.

Rebecca Zanetti continues to thrill us with her brilliance!! As we race toward the possible culmination of this exhilarating series, it is only fitting that the 300-year-old history between our two favourite prophets is finally resolved.  All the stories in this remarkable series, even the novellas, are awe-inspiring and enthralling, and this short but captivating story loses nothing in its brevity. While Lily Sotheby has continually maintained an air of ladylike reserve and professionalism, I have always believed that more lies beneath her refined and cultured surface.  And who better to ruffle her resolve and unsettle her devotion to duty, than a sexy rebellious warrior in the form of Caleb Donovan. Focused on her safety, but overwhelmed by his insatiable attraction, Caleb is determined bring Lily’s forceful and passionate nature to the fore. When the chemistry finally ignites between this impassioned couple; not even the powers of fate, or an impending war can eclipse their desire. TAMED is definitely a one sitting read filled with all the deceit, intrigue and passion, we’ve come to expect from a Dark Protector novel, and I sincerely hope you enjoy Lily and Caleb’s story as much as I did.

This book popped up in my selected for you. I knew it was towards the end of the series but figured if i liked it I could always start at the begining. The book is good, but nothing to write home about, and at $3.00 for 100 pages, and rest of them are $6 & $7 not sure it was that good. I think I will take a pass on this author.

As expected, Rebecca Zanetti delivers a high-intensity romance, amid fast-paced and dangerous circumstances in TAMED; the latest addition to the Dark Protectors Series. Caleb Donovan, the Realm Rebel and our lady, Prophet Lily Sotheby's romance heats up the pages of this novella. Caleb proves to be a hard-ass, no nonsense alpha male, doing things as he's done for ages: his way. He's hell bent on protecting the Realm and his woman, despite his fleeting nature. Surprisingly though, he doesn't hesitate to expose the truth of his feelings to the one woman he's yearned for these many centuries, making him accessible and endearing. And our lady Lily has broken free of the stuffy confines of propriety and shown that she is a force to be reckoned with, Fate be damned. She will do what is necessary to ensure the safety of the ones she loves and I for one admire her new found boldness. Humor, action, scorching-hot attraction and passionate love drive this tale. RAZ has hit another home run for me. This tantalizing bit has only just whet my appetite, strengthening my craving and I eagerly anticipate the next installment.

4.75* This was another amazing addition to the Dark Protectors series. I just can't get enough of these books and I'm very sad that the series will come to a close with the next book.  Caleb Donovan was never meant to be a prophet. He's a fighter not a peace maker. Lily Sotheby chose duty over her hearts desire 3 century's ago. Now that the virus has changed everything Lily wants a chance to experience life on the wilder side. Let me tell you Caleb is one hot vampire and when Lily lets her proper shield down...WOW. But with the upcoming Peace Talks between all the species of the Realm the Prophet's are having nightmares about doing Fates biding. Can they figure this out before something terrible happens? I received this from Netgalley and Kensington Books in exchange for the honest review.

Book source ~ NetGalley Vampire Caleb Donovan and Prophet Lily Sotheby have a history together. Ancient history. Well, a couple of centuries anyway. Way back when, she and Caleb had a thing that could have turned into a lifetime commitment except Lily’s dad chose her to marry Prophet Miles Sotheby and Lily chose duty over her heart. When Miles died, the mark of the Prophet transferred to Lily and she's been one of the three prophets ever since. But now Caleb is a Prophet, too and with the Kurjan-created virus wiping out Lily’s mating mark, she can have sex again. Caleb intends to claim her body and maybe her heart, but he’ll have to wait for a cure before mating with her. Assuming she also wants him. Silly question. Quick and steamy, this short read is a perfect snack between longer books in the series. It gives Lily and Caleb’s backstory as well as their present and a sticky situation involving dark prophecies and the upcoming peace talks between the vampires, Kurjans, and the demons. The steamy scenes are extra delicious and the characters are wonderful. The plot is a bit short-changed and I think that’s only because it’s such a short book. Otherwise this is a great addition to the series and brings us one step closer to the series end.

I really liked Lilly a lot in the previous book Shadowed. We saw just enough of her to tease and then we were given a full viewing in Tamed. I loved every moment of it, I just wanted more. This book opens so many paths to the conclusion of the series. It is preparing the setting for what appears to be the big showdown that centers around Janie, the vampire king’s niece. Caleb courted Lilly three hundred years ago before her parents forced her into an arranged mating. Now, due to the virus the vampire’s enemy has created, Lilly is no longer bound to her mate who died a short time after they came together. I enjoyed watching Lilly come into her own as she struggled against her beliefs and what she could trust as truth or deception. Caleb is a typical alpha vampire who is also a soldier of the Realm and just so happens to have recently been fated as a prophet. It’s a job he does not want nor acknowledges. Once he has a chance to be with Lilly again there is no turning back for him. He is in it all the way and he doesn’t hide that fact from her. Filled with great secondary characters, humor, steamy sex, suspense and even a twist I didn’t really see coming, Tamed lives up to the high standards I have now set for not only this series but for this author. Dual POV Safe No Abuse I would suggest this be read after Shadowed

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed “Tamed”.  Lily and Caleb are some of my favorite characters in the Dark Protectors series.  Lily was such a strong woman.  She gave up so much for duty; it was refreshing to see her finally get the love and happiness she deserved.  Caleb’s stoic personality made my heart race.  I just knew he still loved Lily.  I was so happy to see him finally get a second chance at love.  This was also a great continuation of the battle between good and bad that all the Dark Protectors are facing.  I can’t wait to read more. 4-Bombs Reviewed by Tracy

This is just what I needed to hold me over until the next book from this series. More alpha sexiness and strong-willed women. Dark Protectors is quite possibly one of my favorite paranormal series. It keeps getting better and better each book. Tamed delivers everything that I love about this series. Caleb and Lily just about broke my heart. They're a forbidden love. Yet, Caleb is a "screw the rules" kind of guy and I couldn't be a bigger fan of his. Lily, on the other hand, is on the straight and narrow. She's the prophet that goes by the book. Caleb is the prophet that fights his destiny and rebels at every turn. The connection  these two had was never smothered. When they're thrown together again they can't deny it. And when Lily begins to experience visions that cause her to second guess her rule abiding ways, it bends her entire reality. Including her once adamant rejection of Caleb. Can the rebel teach the angel to blur the lines? Will Lily learn that it's more important to do what is ethical by your own standards than what is right by someone else's? I was thrilled to read this book. The forbidden love, and missed connection aspect really got to me. It made Lily and Caleb's relationship all the more special when they had to fight so hard for it. This story continues the arc that the entire series as followed. There's more unearthed about the doom coming soon. Janie Kayrs life is handing on by a thread. Who will live? Who will perish? And who will find their HEA? That's yet to be seen. There is going to be some MAJOR wrapping up needed in Janie's story. Her story is one of my most anticipated books of the year. I will be waiting not so patiently and reliving the amazing tales already produced in this series! I highly recommend this series for any lover of alpha men and paranormal books! Happy Reading! *ARC provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review*

Tamed is a short story in the Dark Protectors Series by Rebecca Zanetti.  The main characters are the prophet Lily and the Realm Rebel, Caleb Donovan.  The story falls after Shadowed (Book 6).   I recommend reading the other stories in the series before reading Tamed.  I believe the story would make more sense and would be much more enjoyable.    Centuries ago, the prophet Lily chose to marry for duty instead love.  Then, Fate stole her husband away only weeks after their mating and left Lily bound to her dead vampire mate for centuries without hope for love or even sexual release.   Lily has been haunted by memories of the man she turned her back on centuries ago.  Now, Lily is plagued with the Kurjans’ virus, released to destroy vampires’ mates by their enemies.  As the virus destroys Lily’s chromosomes, her mating with her dead husband is terminated.  Lily is free to explore sex without pain.   Caleb has returned to the Realm and is now a prophet.  To try to save the world, the Vampires, Witches, Kurjuans, and Demons are attempting peace talks.  Lily and Caleb must work closely together to ensure these talks are run smoothly and safely.  Tension is high but can Lily and Caleb remain focused on peace or will their burning desire finally engulf their souls?    I am captivated by Zanetti’s vampire world.  Her characters have depth.  The men in her stories are overprotective and alpha while the women are still stubborn and independent.  Zanetti’s exploration of the relationship dynamics between alpha men and independent women is spicy and fun.  She is always able to find a way for the men to maintain their dominance while allowing the women to achieve their own goals.  Her heroines are always resilient and never appear weak while falling in love with tough, alpha men.  I enjoyed reading Caleb and Lily’s story.  Who knew a rebel could be such a romantic?   I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys vampire novels, especially Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed Series.   Thank you Kensington Publishing Corp. for the opportunity to read this novella early.  I truly love this series.  I received an advanced copy from Net Galley in return for my honest review.
