She may be Toni Braxton's baby sister, but Tamar is a diva in her own right. Although the sassy songstress possesses smoky, pew impassioned pipes reminiscent of Toni's, lyrically, Tamar is more round-the-way girl than Hollywood Hills princess. Forget the glamour. Tamar demands love and respect. From the party romps "Get None," featuring Jermaine Dupri and Amil and "No Disrespect," produced by Missy Elliot; to the plaintive ballads "If You Don't Wanna Love Me" and "I'm Over You," Tamar proves that she's not the woman to play games with. Despite her self-sufficient stance, the sometimes sultry Tamar is not totally opposed to being wined and dined. On the piano-heavy "Money Can't Buy You Love," which finds Tamar hitting a piercing high note à la Mariah, she muses that her suitors shouldn't be afraid to share the wealth. Not that the younger Ms. Braxton needs to concern herself with fiscally based friendship. After all, her flawless debut sounds a lot like money in the bank.
