Talon Lore, a former SEAL, has spent the last two years recovering from the damage done when his squad's truck drove over an antitank landmine. Six other team-mates were also badly hurt, the seventh dead, in what their team leader Badger Horley realized later had to be a trap set to take them out. After his best friend is run down, Talon realizes his murder ties in with the original incident that drove him and his squad hell-bent for revenge.A year ago, Talon walked away from his girlfriend, Clary Witcher when she'd given him an ultimatum he couldn't win. Clary is the sister of his best friend killed in the hit-and-run. Determined to tell Clary in person that her brother's death was no accident and keep her safe from those now targeting her, Talon struggles with the haunting prospect of a reunion. Clary has never forgotten and never forgiven herself for chasing the man she loved and still loves away with her stupid, take-it-or-leave-it threat. Her brother's death is a tragedy she's barely dealt with when Talon shows up with answers that only beg more questions. He won't leave her side, certain her brother wasn't the only target. But Clary has learned one thing from her time away from him: Love--not trouble--needs to be Talon's reason for staying with her...even if sending him away means jeopardizing her own life.

I love this series and Talon and Clary have loved and lost and possibly will love again. Talon is trying to find out who is killing off their friends and family. This series is easy to pick up and very hard to put down. You can not go wrong with this series or any of Dale Mayer's books. Very talented author.

This is the ongoing 'Seals of Steal' series. Each book it's own HEA, but with an ongoing story arc. Each book we get another piece of the puzzle. The seals have all recovered from injuries given them by their mystery enemy. In this one Talon reunites with his former love, Clary. Really enjoyed this book, seeing the two loves admit they each had made mistake and that they had grown. It's also great to see how the seals overcome their injuries and learn to live life to the fullest. As always we get to see characters from the previous stories and hints of the next one. The mystery is ongoing and love the puzzle pieces that are revealed... A great series and a good romance! I received a copy of this book for an honest review!

Talon Lore has the baton now for the next part of the investigation into who blew up their truck when they were on a mission and who is killing their friends and family since then. It's time to face his old flame and the twin sister to his best friend. To tell her that Chad is dead because of him. Clary Witcher's life hasn't been easy the last year. Her divorce and then losing her twin brother. And now...the one man she never really got over is back. She's older and wiser now. Independent instead of clingy—like she was when they were together before. But, after eight years, she finds that her heart never got over him. Where these men from the SEAL team go...trouble follows. Whoever it is that hates them—hates them big time. And whoever he is, he's not slowing down. As each man finds his soul mate in this series, the next single man takes up the lead on the mission to search out the next clues. The romance is complete in each book...the mystery, however, continues. **Sexual content

The mysteries continue to unfold and new clues are found in this 4th book in this series, with more suspense and worry I was kept gripped throughout. I find this series a bit heartbreaking, to think these guys were deliberately blown up, severely injured and left for dead had another patrol not found them. The pain and suffering to get back the amount of fitness they have all managed takes some doing, their friendship and support of each other never dwindled. I know this is fiction but reading them it feels real, I connect with the characters on the most basic of levels, I guess because of the pain and struggles they have gone through. If you read just one military related series ever then read this one, from Badger, I hope that deliberate accidents like this don't happen for real but as for the rest it gives you insight into coping and recovery of any serving military injured with loss of limbs. It has to be one of the all time best series of this genre out there.

I love Talon. Yup he is great. Clary not so much. Most of the women hold their own from beginning to end in this series. Clary didn't step up to the plate till half way through and then it was tentative at best. Once she started acting like the intelligent human being she is, it was great. I am so glad she hit on the same point I did with Mouse. I am taking it a step further though. That's all I am going to say about that. I like the Lazlo interjected information to Clary instead of letting there secrets and mis-directions and I am totally thrilled that we are learning more, they are getting closer!!! I am ready for Laslo's story :) Read the series and enjoy.

This is the 4th book in a series about the lives of a team of Seals who survived a land mine explosion (another member was killed in this attack). They survived with major life altering injuries. Each book is focused on one of the team members and how it has affected his life. The Seals have discovered this was not an accident and while trying to solve the mystery they found the danger has extended to their family and friends. In Talon's story, he has lost his best friend. He now has to explain to his best friend's sister that the death was murder not just an accident. Complicating matters, it turns out this sister 'Clary" was very close to Talon in the past. I have to admit Clary is not my favorite heroine, sorry Talon. I will say she does improve as the story progresses. I must compliment Talon on his patience. Still I really enjoyed their story. Each story tells the tale of one of the Seal Team members and actually does come to a very satisfactory conclusion while you know the original mystery continues. Each story gathers more info on the identity of the person who intends to continue harming these brave men. Once again, well done Dale Mayer.

Talon is another interesting and entertaining book in the Seals of Steel series. Dale Mayer is another author I enjoy reading her stories. This series is intriguing with lots of drama and suspense. But I will say that this story ends with a cliffhanger but it's one that you can understand with enjoyment. The characters are believable, alpha males, that's emotional with strong heroine who are not afraid to stand with her man. This story is one that's such a thrilling adventure and I want you to enjoy it as much as I did. I'm so excited to read the next book in this series. We're at the half-way point for this series of interconnected standalone romances, and WOW this story has all the feels! It's a beautiful second-chance romance for Talon and Clary, both still grieving over the senseless death of her brother who was his best friend. The investigation that spans the entire series has led Talon, along with Laszlo, back to California to break the news to Clary about the truth behind Chad's death, and while they're there they realize she's still being stalked by whoever is behind the whole mess. The reasons these two broke up years before are heartbreaking and realistic, but not impossible to overcome. They each have gone through so much loss in the meantime. Watching them learn to trust and heal their hearts was simply beautiful. And the action! More details emerge about the explosion that started everything as well as the murders since. As the former SEALs keep pursuing every lead and tugging every loose thread, the body count increases and it's anyone's guess as to where it will all lead. The nail-biting action only lets up enough to refocus on our young couple and their efforts to mend a rift that never should have happened. Talon and Clary get their HEA romantically, but the investigation continues into the next book. For the romance alone, these books are wonderful standalones. But to follow the mystery into why these seven men were injured in the first place and who's behind the current terror, you'll want to read each book in order. I am loving each book and anxiously awaiting the next installment. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Exciting! As this fabulous series continues, it just keeps getting better and better. Talon is the fourth guy from the SEAL Team unit to unexpectedly find a special someone. Clarey is the sister of his best friend Chad, who was killed while walking, by a hit and run driver. Now everyone knows it was no accident and the person responsible is after Clarey. Talon and Clarey share a past, a relationship that wasn’t meant to be at the time. With Talon convinced that Clarey is now in danger, he needs to make sure she stays safe. It may also be a time that they can mend their relationship and move forward. I love the series of events in these stories and how each one gets us a little more vested and a little closer to finding all the answers to the major questions swirling around the group. There is so much intrigue and suspense, it’s fantastic! I haven’t read a story spanning multiple books like this in quite some time. They are very unique and the author has to be exceptionally talented in order to hold a reader’s interest and keep the excitement at a premium high. This one is top-notch. I felt that there is close attention to detail and unexpected twists and turns to keep this story fast paced and me, the reader, engrossed and unwilling to put the book down until finished. I totally recommend this entire series. This book is excellent! I loved it!

The clues to who blew up the SEALs of Steel unit keep coming as they try to figure out who did it. All the while each man finds the one woman who makes them complete and grounds them, this time it’s Talon and his first and only love Clary. They broke up when she wanted him to be home but his life was the Navy and now when he finds out her brother’s death was no accident, he comes back to find out the truth. Clary has been walking through life since breaking up with Talon in a haze, she’s divorced and now and years later when Talon reappears with shocking news, she’s furious with him, until she realizes the real reason he wasn’t there for her brother’s funeral. As they delve into the “accident”, Clary’s life is once again in danger when the same man responsible comes back for her...will Talon save her and will they get a second chance ? Another great instalment in this series with steam, second chances, some suspense and mystery. I enjoyed these two as they settle the past between them and realize both still had the love for each other and now that they are older and wiser, they realize their mistakes and try to move forward. A read that flowed beautifully and I loved how more clues are dropped as to who it is and the conclusions they come to at the end...can’t wait for the next one as they grow closer to solving the mystery. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*

Another awesome book by Dale Mayer. I loved the characters and how they interact with each other. I loved the story of Talon and Clary! I loved the way the characters from previous books in the series come into the story and help the main characters. As you can see I just loved everything about this book. If you like action, drama, suspense and a bit of a love story thrown into the mix, you will absolutely love this book. Don't plan on doing anything else while reading as you will become so engrossed and absorbed in the book, the "real world" disappears! Love it!
