Jenny Boyd knocked back her second drink and sucked in a breath to help cool the burn scalding its way down her throat. Two drinks was all it took to get her pleasantly fuzzy around the edges. She could probably risk one more and still be able to shake her groove thing on the dance floor, but she'd pace herself. Because she wanted to dance tonight.
She'd finished an amazing two years at a pastry school in Paris and was on a well-deserved vacation, visiting her brother Rick and his wife before starting her final two years. And thanks to her wonderful sister-in-law, Gina, she now had her very first job at the Street Treats bakery. A temp job, of course, while she was visiting. But she couldn't wait to get started. Well, she could wait a little bit. For now, she was celebrating!
She'd been back in town two days and had finally been able to gather up all her girlfriends for a night on the town. She'd have loved to have Gina there as well, but at eight months pregnant, the only thing Gina wanted to do on a Saturday night was curl up in bed and sleep. Jenny, on the other hand, was partying her fool head off.
And party she did, until she, her bestie, Gretchen, and an old school friend, Maddie, were the only three ladies left standing.
Maddie sighed and gathered up her purse. "Well, ladies, it's been grand. But I've got to work in the morning."
"Ah, come on," Jenny said. "One more hour? I haven't seen you in forever!"
Maddie leaned over and gave her a hug. "I know, babe, but someone's gotta pay the bills."
She said it with a smile that didn't quite match the cheerful tone of her voice, and after one more quick round of hugs, she hurried out the door.
Jenny slumped against the booth bench. "Didn't she just get off a twelve-hour shift?"
Gretchen sipped at her cocktail and nodded. "She's got a part-time job on her days off from the full-time one."
Jenny's eyes widened. "Wow. I thought they were doing okay now. Didn't Brad's book finally get published?"
"Yeah, but sales aren't great, I guess, and apparently even if they were, authors don't make all that much. Which is sad because he's actually pretty good. I read his book straight through in two days. Couldn't put it down."
"I thought he was still working at the law firm and writing on the side."
Gretchen downed the rest of her drink. "Nope. Quit to write full time when he got signed by that agent."
"Nice for him, but sucks for Maddie, huh?"
Gretchen shrugged. "She says she doesn't mind."
Jenny didn't say anything, but Maddie hadn't looked happy to her. She was all for following your dreams, but not at the expense of your partner's happiness. Not that it was any of her business.
She finished off her drink and debated whether or not it was time to throw in the towel. It was getting late. And she still had her mother's voice in her head, telling her to get to bed at a reasonable time. Her mother ran a tight ship, and old habits died hard. It was probably time to call it a night.
But then she spotted him.
Good God, it should be illegal for one man to be that sexy. Tall, devilishly handsome, with a body to kill for and a smile that said he knew it. He was also one of the few men she'd seen who could actually pull off the hipster fauxhawk-and-beard look. The close-cropped hair on the sides of the head with the top a bit poofier, and the perfectly groomed long beard actually looked remarkably sexy on him. She'd seen him on the dance floor a few times that night. The man could move. Incredibly well. If she wanted to have some fun, he seemed like the one to join.
He looked familiar. Really familiar. But she couldn't, for the life of her, place him. Then again, it was dark, hazy from the fog machines the DJ was using a little too liberally, and she was on the hazy side herself. And the beard didn't help. Even carefully trimmed and shaped, it obscured half his face. Maybe they'd hooked up once upon a time when she'd done the club scene, before she had decided what she wanted to do with her life. Or maybe he was a friend of a friend. Either way, she didn't know him well enough to remember him, so he probably reminded her of someone she knew. Either way, she was thinking way too hard about it. And his amused smile kept growing.
"Who are you staring at?" Gretchen asked.
"The gorgeous bit of man-candy over there."
Gretchen glanced over. "Oh, yum. No fair. Why do you always spot the hot ones first?"
Jenny shrugged. "I don't. But for tonight, I'll take the luck and do something about it."
"Be careful, Jen."
Jenny waved her off. "I'm not going to run off with him. Just dance with him. He should be safe enough to hang out with for a few hours."
"Just hang out with, huh?"
Jenny laughed. Gretchen had known her since high school. Which meant she knew her all too well.
"I never said 'just.'"
Gretchen shook her head. "You're crazy. Well, at least this one's not a priest. My grandmother still hasn't gotten over what happened to the last one."
"That guy was not a priest. He hadn't even taken his vows yet."
"And never will ... after meeting you."
"Oh, stop. I'm not that bad."
Gretchen's eyebrows rose and she raised her hand to count down Jenny's offenses on her fingers. "You've defrocked a priest ..."
"He wasn't a priest yet."
"Gotten banned from every library within a forty-mile radius for desecrating their research stacks ..."
"No one uses those anymore, anyway."
"Knocked one of the Riverdance guys out of the show when he somehow ended up with a broken leg after a night with you ..."
Jenny smiled fondly. "Liam. That was a fun night."
"Let's not forget the lawyer you got disbarred for inappropriate use of a courtroom ... and the bailiff's handcuffs ..."
"He only got banned from arguing in front of that one judge, not disbarred. I don't know why he got so bent out of shape anyway. We had his robe dry-cleaned."
"Oh, and the real kicker, so to speak ... that soccer star who spent three days in bed with you and forgot to show up for the championship game."
"Yeah, I felt bad about that one." She grinned. "Okay, I get it. But I am trying to tone down the crazy, I swear. At least when I'm in school. But I'm on vacation, damn it. I've got a month to relax. If the crazy wants to come out and play, I'm going to let it."
Gretchen snorted and looked back at His Royal Gorgeousness. "What is he doing?"
Jenny watched, mouth open, as Man-Candy juggled three limes in the air while bending backward, tilting his head enough so that the laughing female bartender could pour a shot directly into his mouth. The crowd gathered around him cheered and he popped back up, still juggling.
"Lime!" he shouted.
The bartender tossed a lime slice into the air and he tried to snatch it with his mouth. And missed. To the disappointment of his groupies.
"Again!" he said.
The bartender grabbed another slice, aimed it carefully, and tossed it in an arc. He staggered backward, keeping the limes in his hands going while he focused on the one falling through the air.
"Incoming," Gretchen said, getting out of the way of certain disaster as he stumbled toward them, his attention on the lime slice.
He caught it in his mouth right as the back of his foot connected with their bench. His limes went flying. And so did he. His butt hit the floor. And his head landed faceup squarely in Jenny's lap.
She yelped and pressed back against the bench. Little good that did her. She couldn't really go anywhere with him half lying on her. Didn't really want to, if she was honest. He was even hotter closer up. Who was she to turn away a gorgeous man who introduced himself with his face in her lap? That would be rude.
He glanced up, opened his mouth, and smiled, the lime slice wedged firmly between his teeth. His friends cheered again and he held the lime up like a trophy. Then he turned his attention to Jenny.
"Hey, there." He beamed up at her like she was his new best friend. "Sorry about that. I'm usually a bit more graceful with the party tricks." He slid off her lap and stood, before holding out a hand to help her up.
"Not a problem," she said. She glanced at the lime he'd dropped on the table. "That was impressive."
"Thank you." He looked her up and down, and she shivered as if he'd run his hands over her body. And then she returned the favor, biting her lip as she feasted on the incredible specimen of manhood before her.
He gave her a slow, sensual grin that had her sucking in her breath.
"Interested?" he asked.
Nice line. Short, sexy, and to the point. She approved. "Very. You?" His eyebrows raised in surprise. Maybe he wasn't used to women who didn't play hard to get. Judging by the sudden heat in his eyes, he didn't mind at all.
"Extremely," he said. "My place?"
She shook her head. "Dance floor."
He playfully pouted, and it was all she could do to keep from sucking his bottom lip into her mouth.
She laughed. "Sorry. Only dancing tonight." For now." Still interested?"
"Definitely," he said.
He walked backward, keeping his gaze glued to hers while he made his way out to the floor. The crowd parted for him like he was Moses parting the Red Sea.
Jenny took a deep breath to try to calm her frantically pounding heart and leaned over to Gretchen while still keeping her focus on him.
"Don't wait up for me."
Gretchen laughed. "Sorry. If things look like they are getting out of hand, I'm going to come drag you away. If you don't come home tonight, Rick is going to have a total shit fit. He'll have half the Hoboken PD out looking for you."
Jenny's sigh was full of fondness mixed in with exasperation. She loved Rick, but having a big brother who was a cop took the protective thing to a whole new level.
"You've got a point. I'll try to rein it in, but you might seriously have to come pull me off the dance floor."
"You really think your self-control is that bad?"
"I know it is." Jenny set her drink down. "He's hot and I'm bothered and that's a recipe for disaster. Well, it's actually a recipe for some insanely hot sex. But I guess having my big brother come kick down the door would sort of put a damper on the mood. And Rick was very specific about me making it back home tonight. Ugh. Fine. I'll try to keep it in my pants, if I must."
"You must," Gretchen said with a wink, heading off to do a little dancing of her own.
Jenny sighed and ran her hands down her hips, smoothing out her dress, making sure she maintained eye contact with her target the whole time. "I should have stayed in a hotel," she muttered as she made her way over to him.
He wrapped an arm around her waist and led her farther out onto the dance floor. Then he pulled her in close and began to move. Each grind of his hips had her cursing her predicament. Not that Rick was her only deterrent. She'd decided to try to be a bit more responsible. Messing up was not an option. Especially not now, when she had the opportunity to help out at Street Treats. The last thing she wanted to do was screw things up with the wrong hookup or a night on the town turning into a horribly hungover day at work.
Her wild ways had gotten her into trouble on more than one occasion, and many of those were not moments she wanted to repeat. Seriously, there was nothing quite so mortifying as getting caught with your pants down, or off, as the case had been, covered in chocolate frosting in the back of a cupcake truck you'd broken into for a night of passionately thrilling sex. By the cops. One of whom was your brother. Who then informed you that the truck you'd broken into was owned by the love of his life, who is now his wife, who'd found her first. Humiliation didn't come close to covering it.
After that, Jenny had decided to turn over a new leaf. No more random hookups. Generally. No more clandestine sex in public spots. Usually. Parties that ended at a respectable hour. Most of the time. Which meant that the hot guy currently sucking on her neck needed to slow down before she found them a dark corner.
She touched the side of his face to get his attention, but when he lifted his head to look at her, she groaned and dragged him down to her mouth. His beard tickled her face, but his lips were soft and hot against her own. She wrapped her arms around his neck and angled her mouth so he could delve deeper, her whole body quaking with urgent need. Screw her brother and her resolutions and everything else. She'd been so good for months, the only thing she wanted right at that moment was to be bad. Oh so very bad.
What the hell else were vacations for?
* * *
Jared couldn't believe he was making out with Rick's little sister in the middle of the dance floor. It had taken him a minute to place her. He'd only met her once, at Gina's wedding, and that had been a few years ago. And back then, in the interest of keeping his balls firmly where they belonged, he'd left Jenny the hell alone. It might have been Rick's wedding day, but Jared had no doubt the man would have taken the time to thoroughly rearrange his anatomy had he touched Baby Sister.
Which was actually a great argument for why he should pry himself away from her and move on. The guy was completely on edge lately. Not that Jared blamed him. Gina was currently eight hundred months pregnant and absolute hell on heels. Between the pressures of impending fatherhood and a wife who was beyond sick of being pregnant, Rick was practically begging to release a little steam, and Jared had no intention of being the focus of all that pent-up anxiety.
Which was what he should tell Jenny. Until she rose up on her toes so she could press every inch of her body against his and deepened her kiss until he couldn't tell where she ended and he began and he didn't give a shit as long as she never stopped.
When they finally came up for air he leaned his forehead against hers and laughed. "We should have done this years ago."
She pulled back so she could see his face, a slight frown creasing her forehead. "What are you talking about?"
"I mean we've wasted a lot of years when we could have been having a lot of fun."
She aimed her best smolder at him. "You've already got me. No need for more cheesy pickup lines."
He frowned, starting to think she might not be kidding. "I wasn't feeding you another line."
"Right. So you usually go around telling women you've never met that you should have hooked up years ago?" She laughed and twirled out of his arms, her hips swaying to the beat of the music.
He stared at her, at a total and complete loss. There was no way she didn't remember him. Okay, yeah, it had taken him a second to place her, so it wasn't out of the realm of possibility that she hadn't recognized him right away. And he did look a lot different than when he'd seen her last. His own grandmother had said she barely recognized him when they'd Skyped right after he'd grown the beard, and she'd been his de facto mother since he was ten. But she'd been kidding. Though she had told him to go shave before she'd signed off for another rousing game of bridge with her retirement home gal pals.
But there was no way Jenny didn't know who he was. Yes, he'd kept his distance from her at the wedding, out of respect for her brother ... and his love of certain parts of his anatomy. But come on.
She wrapped an arm back around his neck and rocked against him. "Are you going to dance with me, or stare at me?" she asked. Another twitch of her hips and he nearly groaned aloud.
He pulled her close. "Sorry. But the view was too gorgeous to pass up."
"Hmm." She draped the other arm around his neck and pressed closer. "You do know how to flatter a girl, don't you?"
He searched her face for any hint of recognition. He saw interest, amusement. Heat. But not a spark that she knew who he was. She kissed his neck, and his arms tightened around her.
"Just calling it like I see it."
She nipped playfully at his bottom lip, and whether or not she remembered him suddenly didn't matter. For the moment. He crushed his lips to hers, exploring her mouth until she trembled in his arms. She might not realize who he was, though he had a hard time believing that, but he was going to make damn sure she remembered him now.

Not having read the earlier titles in the series, I did find that some of the early interactions felt as if I was missing something – but the clear definition of Jenny’s personality was apparent, and her rather scattered approach to her night (and her life) was up front and quite clear. Jared, after a rather awkward introduction was (as expected) intriguing and attractive with one bit of puzzlement – and yes, they had met before even if Jenny doesn’t remember him. Oh it was cute and light, more candy floss than substantive story that dealt with angst and tumult. And that’s just fine. And then, the condom breaks. I’m not a fan of ‘we are now together because” even if the because is simply a cover for undying devotion. And these two – I’ll stand solidly on my impressions that neither is particularly settled or mature, at least not consistently. Sure, there was a big gesture and plenty of clever dialogue to keep me amused, and for the most part I was. I just wanted …..more. While not a must-read and drop everything to devour this book sort of story, it was a perfect diversion for an afternoon read. Clever dialogue, some truly comical moments that both Jenny and Jared drop themselves into will keep you smiling. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions and expectations are my own responsibility.
3.5 stars I've enjoyed some of Kira's other books and I love that cover, so I quickly requested without reading the synopsis. Admittedly, if I would have read it, I'm not sure I would have...kids aren't my thing. Thankfully, Jenny and Jared are both fun characters. They have a boatload of chemistry and the banter was delightful. And I loved seeing the couples from the previous books. When the waiting period started, it got a bit dramatic. Jenny was rightfully thinking some of the things, but I hated that she decided what Jared's reactions to everything would be. I hated that she was so prepared to change her life that she couldn't fathom the idea that he would as well. Overall, it was a quick cute read. I would have loved just a bit more from the ending, but the grand gesture was perfect and I'm just being greedy. **Huge thanks to Entangled Publishing for providing the arc free of charge**
Open mouth, insert foot, or in this case activate hormones, bring on the trouble. Kira Archer is a gem. She proves that a story can deliver the goods without taking itself too seriously. Sweetly, Deeply Absolutely serves up laughs galore, drop dead sex appeal and touching moments that make for a desirable piece of entertainment. Jenny and Jarrod have a lot in common. The company they keep, the friends they share and an attraction that's quickly spiraling out of control. In a surprising twists this good time duo, receives an all to real wake up call. We all have to grow up sometimes.
Two people who never planned to become an item suddenly are much to their jargon. Jared and Jenny enjoy living their single life to the fullest, but when they play too hard consequences come calling. Working together only proves the sparks already flying between them are justified despite the chaos that it causes to their lives.. This was a good, uncomplicated read that you don't have to read the rest of the series to get into. I would recommend as a sweet treat. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this story.
A sweet story! I was really looking forward to Jenny's story after reading her big brother's ( Totally, Sweetly Irrevocably ) and seeing all of the mayhem she managed to cause there. And the Jenny of the first few chapters didn't disappoint. Their meet (meet again, technically) cute was especially entertaining: He was even hotter closer up. Who was she to turn away a gorgeous man who introduced himself with his face in her lap? That would be rude. Both Jenny and Jared are young and free and fun, and reading about them feels just as fancy free...until things happen. Don't get me wrong, though--it's still a great read, but our hero and heroine have to pause and take stock of things, which quickly get complicated. They have to take a good look at their lives and decide what they really want, what they're willing to change, and what will be worth the effort of reaching for--regardless of the ultimate outcome of their "oops" moment. In some ways, the carefree, most-likely-to-be-arrested-in-a-food-truck Jenny is no more, but since time has gone by and she's discovered and been moving toward her calling (culinary school in Paris, nonetheless!) that makes sense. It needed to happen. She's growing up and finding her way, a way which may or may not include a certain fun-loving, live and love for the moment friend of her older brother who also needs to think about moving forward and taking his own risks. And...maybe anther somebody too? I'm not telling you; you're going to have to find out for yourself ;) A sweet conclusion to a delectable series--readers will get to see prior heroes and heroines living out their HEAs, ooh and aah over baby owls (!), and maybe even drool a little--or a lot--over the idea of a wedding cake made of baklava. (Google it. You won't be sorry.) Rating: 4 stars / B+ I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Kira Archer has done it again - written a highly entertaining romantic comedy with great characters, humorous interactions, plenty of twists and turns and that oh so important HEA ending - but not until there have been lots of diversions en route! Jenny is back home for a month from studying at a Parisian culinary school. She’s determined to have fun and is even more tempted when the handsome hunk, Jared Crew, literally lands in her lap! He recognises Jenny from his best friend’s wedding and knows she should be off limits as that friend would not appreciate Jared making any moves on her. However, temptation, attraction and hormones galore mean these two are mutually attracted and things between them soon get hot and steamy. That’s when reality steps in with a condom breaking wake up call! What should these two do now? Both main characters are fun and grow in maturity during the story. I admit didn’t like Jenny’s somewhat judgemental attitude regarding Jared at some points in the story, especially how, whilst she acknowledged that she was prepared to change her life and ambitions, she assumed Jared would be unable or unwilling to do so. I like how the author revealed that Jared’s overt attitudes and behaviours actually hid and protected his more emotional, sensitive nature. I also enjoyed how they both developed because of their relationship. Get ready for some amazing descriptions of culinary treats in this light-hearted and heart warming story with plenty of laugh out loud encounters and touching moments interspersed throughout the drama, making it a highly entertaining read that I have no hesitation in recommending. I requested and was given a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.
I loved this story with Jared and Jenny. They could have been the same person in the beginning. I loved their flirtatious ans very sexy connection they had going on. We got to see more of Jared and his friend Gina (book two leading lady) and they were priceless together. I loved the camaraderie between Jenny, Jared and Gina. Gina played a great role/guide for both Jared ans Jenny. They were fun together of course, but needed that little extra help in making their relationship work. The ending was by far the sweetest, most romantic and will put a huge smile on your face. Definitely a great addition to the series. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.
Another adorable book in the Sweet Love series (its #3 but can be read as a stand alone). I love that both Jenny & Jared are players- it was nice to see a twist to the woman taming a playboy. It was interesting to see how they "tamed" each other & had a lot of fun along the way. Also loved catching up on the previous couples from the series. Kira Archer writes in such a lighthearted manner that you can't be anything but happy while reading her stories. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
3.5stars Sweetly, Deeply, Absolutely was an ok read. The book didn’t give me thrills and spills. Both characters were developed but nothing special to me. They were so much more alike. I liked that story was unpredictable and that the turn out of the story was unpredictable. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
"Sweetly, Deeply, Absolutely" by Kira Archer is book number three in the "Sweet Love" series. This is Jared Crew and Jenny Boyd's story. Jared and Jenny end up working together at her sister in-laws bakery since she is going to be out on maternity leave. Jenny and Jared have a reputation for having a lot of one night hook ups. Jenny is determined that she do the right thing but Jared is so tempting. Jared knows that Jenny's brother will kill him if he hooks up with Jenny. Well, temptation can be a hard thing to ignore. There is lots of humor, fun, and steamy scenes. Jared's character has a way of charming you. Will Jared and Jenny just hook up or will they take a chance on finding their happily ever after? FYI, includes mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Cute, fun, sexy and of course sweet, just as the title suggests! Jenny and Jared are both looking for a bit of fun with no strings attached, but soon, they are both feeling more than just attraction. I loved seeing the way their feelings for each other developed, especially while they wait to find out if they are or aren't having a baby. The only reason this is not a five star read for me, is that Jenny did not give Jared the benefit of the doubt when it came to him changing his lifestyle the way she was ready to. Not necessary to read the first two books in the series. 4.5 stars I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.
It took me a bit to get into this one. I wasn't sure about the characters at first, but I was quickly won over. I liked their banter/flirting. This was a fun easy romance. Exactly what I was look for to read. I was drawn to this book because Jenny is a pastry chef. Both Jenny and Jared aren't looking for anything serious just some fun. What do they when they want more? Can they take that leap or will they let insecurities rule?
Jenny Boyd is home from culinary school in Paris. She is helping out her family out with a bakery. Jenny runs into her brother in law's best friend Jared at a club. They have a series of hot hook ups over he month long vacation. Everything is great until the condom breaks, which takes the hook up to the relationship territory. Will Jared and Jenny be able to work out their differences if the become parents or the disappointment if they don't? This is a great addition to the Sweet Love series and I love how effortlessly Ms. Archer blends comedy, romance, and a well plotted story line. This is a fun romance that will catch and keep your attention. I was given a free copy for an honest review.
What a sweet, charming, funny read. Jenny and Jared made a nice couple. The heat level was raising between them. Yet, if you are thinking this might be too much for you; you are alright as the sex scenes are mild but not too graphic. Even though Jared had the persona of a playboy it was Jenny that made the first move and most of the other moves as well. Jared was so charming that even I had could not help but smile. However as much as I enjoyed the romance of this story, I was also wanting to read this book for the baking. Yes, Jenny and Jared did spend time in the bakery and made some sweets but it was minimal. I wanted more focus on the baking. Overall, this was a nice read. I would read another book by this author.
I voluntarily reviewed this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.I haven't read Ms.Archer's books before butbthis was a fast fun read.
what a sweet little read, carrying on around the already established Street Treats bakery. Jared and Jenny are both wild young adults. sewing oats and no where near ready to settle down. thier chemistry jumps of the page and they can't stop from more happening than making a cake. Both grow up and mature during their short time together and harsh life realities about futures are faced. lots of laughs and a few steamy scenes mixes with some good honest conversations that leave you turning the pages to see what these two cook up next.
*This book was received via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review* I really enjoyed this book with it's unique and refreshing plot and characters. I liked the fact that both of the main characters Jenny and Jared were players rather than just one of them; this made the plot a lot more interesting. There were many funny moments throughout the book and there was a good mix of romance as well as character development. I loved the setting of the bakery and quite a few times I wanted to eat some of Jenny's creation, especially that baklava wedding cake. I was, however, a little disappointed with the ending as it seemed a little rushed and out of character for Jared. Overall, this was a great read with plenty of laughs, an interesting plot and great characters.
This is a great book; this is the third book in the Sweet Love series written by Kira Archer. Jenny Boyd has a month off from culinary school and has some serious party plans. Especially when the hottest guy in the club literally lands in her lap. Graphic designer Jared Crew is shocked when his best friend's sister-in-law doesn’t remember him right away. Luckily, she is more than willing to let him jog her memory, no complications required. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. This book has been provided by the author with no expectations and that in no way influences my review
sweetly, deeply, absolutely sounds like just the sort of book a blog called definitely, possibly, maybe should be reviewing. it's a sweet confection of a romance. jared crew is a player. he's unapologetic about it. he's always noticed jenny boyd, but she's off-limits since her brother happens to be his best friend's husband. but the thing about jenny is that she is as much a player as jared is. i liked that there was no judgment made on the kind of exploits that jenny got herself mixed up in. both she and jared have a long list and that's totally cool. jared never makes a big deal about it, and while jenny frets about jared's inability to commit, it's not in a way that feels hypocritical or over-the-top. the attraction between these two crazy kids sizzles and eventually they give into it. but when the condom breaks they face a 10-day period of uncertainty. will there be consequences to their impulsive hook-up? and if there are consequences would they really be unwelcome? as they wait out the dreaded two weeks to figure out if there is actually anything to worry about, we see their friendship deepen. both jenny and jared are good people. they are fun-loving and artistic and creative. and they have a lightness to them so that even when they are absolutely stressed, you never feel like there is only sturm and drang between them. it's great. this was just a sweet quick read. totally enjoyable. this one is actually the third book in the sweet love series, but you don't need to read the first two to enjoy it. **sweetly, deeply, absolutely will publish on october 17, 2016. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoyed this one so much! The story was fun, sweet, and definitely sexy. Jenny Boyd is in town with a month off from the culinary school she attends in France. Looking for a little fun and games during her downtime, Jared Crew seems like the perfect partner in crime. He's a carefree, go with the flow kind of guy. Since they both shared the no commitments philosophy there are no worries about getting too serious. That is until things get real serious real fast! A very entertaining read that everyone should enjoy. I highly recommend it.
3.5 stars Sweetly, Deeply, Absolutely was a fun, sweet and entertaining read. I found myself smiling and turning the pages watching the relationship between Jared and Jenny unfold. They entertained me from start to end, it was also nice catching up with the previous couples and seeing how life is treating them. Overall, Sweetly, Deeply, Absolutely is a well written and entertaining romance that will bring out all the feels.
This book is perfectly titled. The sweet love story of Jared and Jenny, two free spirits who fall deeply for one another and are absolutely perfect together. Adulting is scary, but doing it together can make it all worth the while. Sweetly, Deeply, Absolutely made me hungry for three things: 1. Dessert. Lots and lots of desserts. Cupcakes and frosting and baklava slathered with honey. 2. Jared. Preferably combined with #1. His wit, talent, sensuality and kind heart make him a delicious find (especially if there is frosting or honey involved). 3.More Kira Archer Books! Fortunately, there are the two earlier books in the Sweet Love series - treat yourself and read them all!
3.5 Stars! Sweetly, Deeply, Absolutely, is the third book from Kira Archer's Sweet Love series, and it can be enjoyed as a standalone. I found the first book from this series to be terrific, so I naturally had to read another installment. If you love cupcakes, baklava and an engaging couple, then this book is for you. Jenny Boyd and Jared Crew are two peas in a pod. They are both talented, good-looking and commitment phobic. Jenny is studying to be a pastry chef in Paris and Jared is a freelance graphic artist in Hoboken. Jared's best friend's wife, is best friends with Gina, Jenny's brother's wife. So Jenny and Jared sort of know of each other. Since Jenny is home on break, she and Jared run in to each other and end up working together at Gina's bakery. They have tremendous chemistry, which leads up to hot sex, a wedding cake made from layers upon layers of baklava, a spot on a local TV station, and a pregnancy scare. Whew, they have a lot to deal with if they decide to forge a future together. I liked this story, however, I found the pace to be a bit on the slow-side. Jenny and Jared are great together and their sexy times are very seductive. The secondary characters are unique in their own right and add a ton of camaraderie to the present happenings. Overall, this is a nicely written story and I am looking forward to reading more from this author. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.
Loved this book! If you're looking for a sweet romance that is a bit spicy, you've found it in this book. Jenny is home for a few weeks vacation from her pastry chef training in France. She's half way through the program and has buckled down from her wild child tendencies to focus on her goal. Determined to let her hair down and have fun, she meets Jared in a bar and immediately wants him. Jared is just as taken with Jenny, but as a player he's not known for being discriminating. Just as they start to get a bit crazy, Jenny's brother enters the bar....her overprotective policeman brother. Jared backs off and the moment is lost. The next day, Jenny is at her temporary job at the Street Treats bakery and Jared is there. Turns out they have lots of friends in common. Maybe not having that one night stand was a good thing, except they can't seem to keep their hands off of each other. Add in a broken condom and you have a very entertaining read with humor and heart. While this is book three in a series, it is a stand alone novel, however, the series is so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all.
