A new STANDALONE romance from New York Times bestselling author Jana Aston

Have you ever set out to have a one night stand with a sexy stranger?
No? I'm the only one?
Just kidding, I would never.
Not usually.
But then I figured, why not? My entire life I've been good and it's gotten me nowhere.
No job.
No apartment.
No boyfriend.
I'm owed a little fun, aren't I? A reward for being good.
Sure, a new pair of shoes would be more appropriate, but Mr. Sexy Stranger is more appealing. And when he speaks--in that British accent--it's a done deal. Every American woman has a hot British guy fantasy. Well, most do. I haven't taken a poll or anything, but I'm pretty sure it's a fact.
You know that saying about best-laid plans?
Good, because I don't either, but I assume they go awry.
Like my one night stand...

I wanted to love this book. Because I am a huge fan of Aston and her books. They always have me laughing out loud and just make you feel good. That it's ok to be different and awkward. But I will say this book was lacking for me a little. Please don't throw rotten eggs at me. *ducks head* I was so excited for another one of Jana Aston's books!!! I love her crazy awkward heroines and sexy as all sin male characters. And she gave us both yet again. I loved Jennings and Violet and the banter between the two of them. I loved the storyline. But there was one thing that never got answered in the book for me. I don't want to give spoilers but it had to do with her sister. Also once things finally were revealed it just seemed to end. And I think I was looking for just a little more at the end.

Jenna always makes characters that catch your attention and keep your reading. They're always charming and witty and sometimes make you embarrassed on their behalf. This book does not disappoint. It might have had what some will call a predictable ending but it keeps you engaged and kept you excited for what the outcome actually was. It also made me excited to see what happens to the sister I can't wait until that book comes out.

I love reading books by Jana but this book was simply great - one of her best yet! The dirty talk was H-O-T. Jennings & Violet were a perfect match and you could feel the connection. So many LOL moments - such a fresh & fun read. Loved it! ??????????

My first thought as I began listening was that I wished I had the guts to do what Violet did. Hey, just realized this is two audiobooks in a row that the main character was named Violet! Although in this story, she had to go by the name Daisy, because she was pretending to be her twin. I did get a little annoyed at times when there were too many chapters from the same character. I get why it's done, it adds the drama/suspense for knowing what the other character is thinking, but sometimes I just need/miss the other character's viewpoint! As the story went and we learned just how awesome Jennings was in bed, I couldn't help but compare to my own experiences and thought about who was that for me. Now, I did agree with her sister Daisy about some things, like carrot cake, yuck! This was one that I feel like neither of their secrets were bad enough to make the other upset when the learned them. But the way that Jennings kind of connected the dots and the assumptions he made based on seeing something out of context at the end, I can understand his being upset. In the end though, we got more chapters from his point of view, and when he realized she was a twin, I'm glad that helped him see that her secret wasn't what he would think. Loved so much about this. I did want to strangle the author though for how she left us off at the end of one chapter with Jennings. I couldn't believe when we joined him again towards the end that she'd done that to us! One other thing to share, there is a quote that really hit me, really resounded with me: Prepare for the inevitable or hold out hope. That is how I feel about my love life. I've kind of just given up and realized I'll be alone for my whole life. Done holding out hope. Now getting any love and romance from the books I read. Glad to hear there is going to be a book for Daisy too!

Romantic & Fun! Sure Thing is a fun (and really funny) RomCom. When Violet decides to shake her life up, life shakes back and she finds herself getting more and more tangled up. I’m a sure thing,” I tell him with a small shrug while shifting my eyes away then back. “Are you?” The amusement on his face is clear. No. I’m not a sure thing. I’ve never been a sure thing. But I’ve never been Rose before either, so to hell with it——tonight I am." The story is at times laugh out loud funny, but still sweet and romantic. Violet is a fun and quirky heroine and Jana Aston gives us an awesome hero to swoon and fall in love with. "Do not let me down. You are my first one-night stand, don’t be my last. Don’t be the reason I give up entirely and take up knitting and invest in a vibrator collection."

Jana Aston's comedic timing is "bloody brilliant" (said in my best faux British accent)! Aston does it again with her new Sure Thing. Violet is an identical twin in the middle of a twenty-some life crisis. She's lost her job, and her boyfriend all in one week. Her identical twin, Daisy, works for a tour company as a guide, where she is able to take on a tour for pay at will. While we don't ever know why Daisy backs out, she encourages her twin sister Violet to take her place as the tour guide for a week, claiming no on will ever know, because the twins can't be told apart. Violet finds herself in the hotel bar the night before the tour starts, feeling down and rejected. Taking her sister's and a a recent magazine's advice on how to land a one night stand in a bar, she stares at a handsome man across the bar, for exactly 3 seconds, then looks away. It works! Beautiful Jennings Anderson, sees her 3 seconds stare and buys her a drink, coming over to make conversation. He's British and the accent alone has her swooning. The attraction is off the charts. But, remember, Violet can't be herself! She's Daisy for the week. The hot one night stand is everything she thought it would be...until the next morning, when she finds Jennings and his grandmother on her tour bus. Let the hilarity begin!

I just love Jana's writing! Funny yet sexy, brilliant! There was so much going on in this book and so well written! Violet is stepping in to be her twin, Daisy. Stepping into a new role, Violet begins by having her first one-night stand...which becomes a week longer! Jennings is also hiding a secret that he's the CEO of the company Daisy works for. It all becomes a mess but such a fun read! I hope we hear of Daisy's love life next.... My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.

Sure Thing is an apt name for this book, because when it comes to being a proper bestseller, this book is most definitely a sure thing! Jana Aston never disappoints. This book is as hilarious as it is hot… and that’s saying something. The plot is intriguing, the writing extraordinary, and the characters outrageously compelling. These characters are larger than life, and they just draw you right into the story, and before you know it, you’re completely obsessed with their lives and relationships. The love story of Jennings and Violet is a beyond funny romp through the realm of romantic comedy… at its finest. Their inner monologues alone are worth the price of admission for this book. Throw in some incredibly witty banter and super steamy love scenes and you’ve got a bonafide hit on your hands. I loved every word of this book, and I’m hoping beyond hope that there is a sequel in the works that centers on Violet’s outrageous sister, Daisy. As far as this book is concerned, I absolutely cannot recommend it highly enough. Buy it now or you’ll be kicking yourself the next time that old romantic comedy itch yearns to be scratched. *I was given an ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review. All opinions are my own.

5 Brilliant stars for Violet and Jennings! Jana Aston should be quite chuffed with herself at how brilliant this book is! Violet and Jennings just secured the top spot for my favorite Jana couple. Okay, where to start? I always love to read Jana's books because I know they're going to be funny and full of witty banter and have me shaking my head at the antics that occur. But they also tell a great story each and every time. This one centers around Rose, no wait Daisy, no that's not right, it's Violet... well you'll understand once you start reading. How many times have you heard of someone using a fake name on their night out, hoping to score with a hottie for a couple of hours. Perhaps you've even done this yourself. Either way, why use your real name when you're never going to see them again, right? Poor Violet, she's been through a ton of crap recently, and she deserves to have a little fun. Always the rule follower, always the serious one, but where has that gotten her? Not where she would like to be, that's for sure. So when she sets her sights on a guy in the bar, she decides, why not? She's already gotten herself in one situation to help her sister, why not just keep going? And when the hottie opens his mouth and out comes a delicious British accent? Twin win! Well, the best laid plans often go awry, and Violet finds herself leading a weeklong tour in her sister's place. And guess who is one of the tourists signed up for this week of fun? Yep, you guessed it - her one night stand. Better known as Jennings Anderson, the British hottie. What follows is a delightful story of how Violet tries to keep all the plates spinning in the air. Can she successfully make everyone believe that she's her sister, and turn her one night stand into a week of pleasure, and fend off the bus driver that knows her sister in the biblical sense, and keep her hope alive that she'll finally find a job after six months of no luck? Whew! I almost ran out of breath on that... Jennings is every girl's dream! Well, he's mine anyway, with his British accent and gorgeousness, and his proper British mannerisms. And it was super sweet that he's on this tour with his Nan, that made me swoon. But Jennings hasn't exactly been completely honest or forthcoming with Violet either, so watching these two spend their week together, obviously falling for each other but not really knowing the true person they were falling for? I couldn't wait to see how Jana resolved that! This was a very entertaining, feel good book. I laughed quite a lot, I rooted for these two hard, that this would turn out to be more than just a one night stand, or just a weeklong fling. I was impressed with Jana's use of a lot of British colloquialisms and laughed at Violet trying to use them while talking with Jennings. I was smirking right alongside him and I could see exactly why he was so enamored with Violet. As I said in the beginning, this book and these two characters have quickly become my favorite of all of Jana's. Brilliant story! 1 like
